AEBN feeds

Anyone use them for their paysites? If so how realistic is the allowed BW for each of the tiers? It looks kind of low and overages are stupidly high on the lower end packages.

good question, i've been wondering the same thing, how much are the overage charges for say a typical paysite with 1,000 members.

We give Webmasters a chance to change into another package if they go over their bandwidth. We tested it out on several sites before we started the program to see what we needed to charge. We work with webmasters and help them out if they start to shoot up in bandwidth. We don't send massive bills at the end of the month and we let them know in advance if they are spiking. We also have stats that you can check everyday to see how much bandwidth you are using and many other Companies don't do that. It's not not a bad program and we have over 100 studios streaming in our feed program. Let me know if you guys need anything or have any questions.

Thanks ;)

Tipsy and Mutt,

I use them, and at first was worried about the overcharge if I exceeded the bandwidth limits. But I was VERY pleasently surprised to see that as I had overage charges, I also had upsells that more than offset the overage. So the net is that the feed costs me LESS than the quoted amount each month. Hard to say whether that is typical, but that is what I have seen for 6 months.

And members love the full-length feeds and the guaranteed monthly rotation of 100% of the feed.

AEBN is the only upsell I have on my site (well other than a store) and it is very low key and built into the paid feed. I highly recommend.

We've used them for nearly a year and the members do love the feeds.

But beware if you've got any broadband members it will blow the usage plan out of the water.

Also, like most plugins, beware they only use referer based security and its very easy for people to access the feeds from outside your members area using zspoof or similar so keep an eye out for spikes.

Verdict = expensive but worth every penny if managed closely

The feeds are top notch and members retain because of them -

The only problem I had was aebn had a fault on the payment script and wouldn't accept my card. Then when the script was fixed - It appeared to me cards from Poland were auto rejected - Our bank never had a single request from aebn, but aebn's gateway still rejected.

That was a shame, really as I haven't found anything yet half as good to replace them.
