But what kind of resolutions are adult webmasters using these days ?

1280x1024 on a 19" Viewsonic A90f+ flatscreen CRT.. excellent monitor for the price. Old TNT2 AGP, saving up for an nVidia Quadro4 XGL.

Right now a 19" Sony Trinitron and a 21" Sony Trinitron.. I had a 19" blow up on me two nights ago and haven't replaced it yet

If you're designing for adult webmasters... design for 1024x768.

There may only be a few on lower resolutions but there are tons on 1024x768. And you don't want to piss all those people off. Besides, 1024x768 looks fine even at 1600x1200 or what ever.

800x600 just looks microscopic.
