Free Trial Sites - Good Conversions - diversify

Quick heads up for WM's who promote free trials, with some processors & sponsors phasing out free trials all together over the next two months. Like many WM's, we made good money from Free & don't want to give it up if we can. We have a few good alternative Free Trial sponsors with good conversions running their own merchant accounts. These are small/medium sized programs. hit me up on ICQ. 213110005.

Times are changing, slowly seeing more and more premium traffic going to sites that are running their own merchant accounts. Big traffic wm's are really diversifying their sponsors now, where they actively promoted 2 different sponsors last month they are now promoting 5-6 sponsors.

The pressure is on & no doubt the next wave of third party vibrations will hit the industry soon. Make sure you are diversified as well. There are still some great deals out there with sponsors & good conversions to match. the sky hasn't fallen, yet.

Just be prepared for months following Oct. It 'may' get a bit rough. Programs are cutting wm's to keep in check now, how long before processors cut accounts/wm's to keep their ratios in check? It is not an unrealistic thought.

you only have to go back 1 month to see that a few good guy's have been canned by sponsors because their accounts where over the set ratios, then they've had to come here & fight to get re-instated.

Hi Soul-rebel,

I've seen a large high traffic adult domain portfolio go from only ARS sites to promoting 5 different sponsors, ranging from PPC rev-share to paysites (paid & free).

but omniously, I've seen some domains that have pushed dialers for the past 18 months not changing a thing.

If I was a 3rd party processor customer, I would definetly make sure I was well under the new 1% & 2% guidelines. When the processor has to cut accounts to manage their risk, would you want to rely on luck that you have a seat when the music stops?

We are seeing all sorts of downward pressure:
1. card associations advising banks to cut certain accounts,
2. Banks advising processors to cut certain accounts,
3. processors advising accounts holders (based on what we've been told) to cut certain merchants.

many wm's with merchant accounts understand the banks can terminate your account at their sole discreetion, and at their sole discreetion they can choose to give you 30 days notice or no notice at all.
