My wife has Health insurance so I am all set. I was just wondering how most of you get by without it?

My wife quit her job last year so we've been enjoying the COBRA benefits since then for around $500/mo. Since you can't do a continuation of benefits forever... I just priced out Blue Cross Blue Shield here in Detroit, their PPO plan with prescription benefits. Since I don't have a large group of employees it's going to cost $904/month to insure myself, wife and child. Ouch!

I have insurance through my business as well. In the states if you have a DBA and want low cost health insurance for you and any employees (it can be just you as well). Just find your local Chamber of Commerce. Most offer many health plans to there members. Membership fees to the chamber vary but the savings on the health insurance are decent.

Well that's still $300 per person.
I guess that is pretty fair considering how
expensive doctor visits are.

I have a BCBS PPO individual plan, $500 deductible, then it covers 80%, $20 co-pay doctor visits. I pay $313 a month, but my son's (same plan) just went from $97 to $112 a month, so I'm sure my increase letter is in the mail.

My father paid premiums for 10 years. When he finally used them, they delayed payment to the providers for almost a full year. He had to pay the providers himself in order to stop collection. It was absurd. He canceled and went with BCBS and everything's been smooth sailing since.

I inquired to them and had an unprofessional, pushy salesman asshole call me. I asked some educated questions when we were on the phone because I used to work in medical billing and got nothing but attitude. Ultimately, the useless fucker didn't even end up sending me the information that I requested.

And wow, that story above is very telling and worth it's weight in gold.

Sheesh, that sucks Peaches. I had NASE 1993-1995, and had major surgeries and junk and had no problems out of FLA. I loved them while I had them and then went on to use VA services which I like alot better :-) Monthly premiums with any policy was killer plus I collapsed under all those 1993 lawsuits and went belly up with $$$$.

PS - Your Internext pics were so cute! I just adore you babee.
