This fucking virus

I just scanned my computer. And nothing is showing up. But people say they are getting a virus sent to them from my e-mail address. How the fuck is that possible?

The virus scans email addresses off of web pages and uses 'em to both send to and as return addresses. Fun Huh!

Some virii setup their own SMTP daemons on peoples computers and generate random email addresses. Lately I have been receiving emails from cybercatinc, jokersx etc and I have never done business with either of them and I have been getting virus infected emails.

It quite possibly could be someone I have done business with has the virus and it is randomly generating emails and they have done business with cybercatinc, or jokersx.

They can be a pain in the ass, as long as you keep your pattern files up to date and check all your email and such you should be cool. I use mailwasher quite a bit too.

Someone has both you and your friend in their address book along with the virus.

That's one fucked up e-mail worm that was written designed to go into address books.... find e-mail addresses that are there and then send out the worm to others with your address as the sender. So... just thank your friends you thought you had. One thing I am proud of is that a load of the crap I am getting is from Dell. Glad to see those guys/gals take a break from putting crap together to surf this side of the world.

It does seem to be slowing a bit, so maybe the worst is over.

18 times?? I've been deleting 100 an hour from 9 domain emails for the last 3 days..

I finally started sending all my email with [email protected] in the From box so anytime the bug picks it up from someone I emailed it'll send it there..

From what I've read, I understand it goes through emails you've received / sent and send them an email from someone else in your address book, so it's all very deceptive who is actually sending the mail, and this is why you can receive emails from people with whom you havent' done business with in the past

I recommend everyone download a FREE copy of McAfee's Stinger. Set it to scan all files and run it even if you have Norton. I have found Stinger to catch shit missed by Norton.

Hmmm, I'm narrowing this down... I only know of two lovely ladies that went to nyc. One gorgeous redhead and one dark haired beauty. I heard Lady L was back in Seattle so I'm guessing this is Lady K.

Either way, good to hear from you!
