Just told a guy on ICQ that he could take his $2200 and stick it where the sun does not shine. Well did not say that but after a lot of negotiating I finally told him we do not need his money.

I was offering the standard deal that is open to everyone on www.paulmarkham.com 7 sets or videos for $200. As he was after mostly boy-girl and girl-girl images sets and videos that is a 40% discount.

Which was not enough for him, so he asked if I do something better as he was going to spend a lot of money. So I said if he can pay by check or wire he could have an extra 10%

No he had to pay with his Credit Card and would have the 10% anyway.

That was the point I told him thank you but, NO THANKS.

There are some content providers who are suffering, mainly because they simply do not produce the goods. The clients they sell to cannot resell to the surfer, the ultimate client, or they simply cannot sell. So they will bend over and supply the lube for anyone with $100.

We are not one of those. We will do our best to help and provide the best product and service we can manage. But we are not desperate for $2200. Why?

I agree with you on that, some people are looking for too good of a deal doesn't matter if you are in design, content or software.Sometimes you just can't bend to the prices and deals they want.
In the software side of things, a lot of people don't know what certain things will take (time) and they don't know how much programmers go for these days, so its credit towards them.

This market has changed.

4 years ago it was still new and lots of opportunities for anyone who could put up a site or point a camera. Now it's different and some are suffering, they will sell everything for anything they can get.

The problem is simple any clown can shoot like a newbie and they have saturated the "Amateur Photographer" market. Too many sites, too many shooters and too few skills.

Some have inventories that are four years old and if they sell it for 100,000 pics at $0.01 each. that is $1,000 they would not have made. Their clients are unlikely to return.

We shoot something few can shoot and we do it well, that is why we cost more. Our clients come back all the time. We do not have to give it away to sell it.

A pile of dung is still shit and still smells. 1% CB is going to cull a lot.

I have found that the best content, is the best price I can get on it..

I was able to get all of fresh photos for 5k, all the could9 for 2500, all the faproductions for like 1800, all of hot amateur mpegs for 999..

As well as all the other crap that I have accrued over my 100 years in this biz..

and my favorite content? Is the best deal I get!

Cause after a while.. you realize.. hey recurrings are gonna suck no matter what.. may as well save money!

Your problem could be that you do not know how to select the right "good" content. Your recurrings suck, not everyones do.

Or the whole idea of exclusivity or unsaturated is BS, which I'm starting to think is right. My top money making sets are on www.bargainbasementcontent.com selling at $5 to $15 each.

I think the market is three levels, one is just filler and any old crap will do, the next is good stuff that will convert and keep surfer, but you have to add 5 sets a day. Then exclusive assuming it is good exclusive and not crap.

The problem now is the guy who gets inside a site and decides it isn't worth it or has seen it all before and will charge back instead of cancelling.

You either need to white balance the camera or better yet use balanced bulbs. But for 300 bucks that content is a real bargain. I think you will sale (thanks groove) it by the end of tonight. I may buy it for sobegirl if you are so inclined....

I like them to decide for themselves to buy or not. If not, maybe later because we were helpfull. I'd rather see them buying a few titles and see them come back for more then I would stuff them with too many titles at once where they might be feeling bad about afterwards.
