I have a phobia about touching anything related to electricuty.

When i was a young stallion around the age of 10 or so I stepped on a open electric cord in the garage and got a jolt in me that just woke me up per se

If its a major job get at least 3 bids. Most electricians are pretty good. Just make sure all the wiring work they do is to code.

I'm an electrical engineer, done quite a bit of residental and commercial wiring/power delivery along the way. I'd say call around and ask for references, a professional electrician will be able to give you contact info of past customers for you to check their satisfaction with his work.

If you can't find such a professional in your area, educate yourself on basic house wiring and get the guy to explain what he is going to do, it'll at least give you some idea of his competence level.

!) Get their license number & #3 as well
2) Call the license board and verify:
A) It's a valid license
B) How long has he BEEN licensed
C) Has he had any suspensions etc etc etc
3) Get his Insurance and Bond information
A) Call and verify those and also ask about any claims he might have incurred, and how long he has had policy and bond

THEN deal with time frames and such. No point going thru all of it before you know whether you want the person even doing the work.

You'd best stay away from wiring... I have a feeling your Juicy powers were activated by that shock. Another one could reverse everything.

Call a company that has the most trucks. The bigger they are, the faster they will work, as opposed to one man band contractors that might price gauge you indefinitely. Usually a larger company, will have a better reputation and experience. Either way, they aren't cheap. You could also ask some local businesses who they have used... word of mouth is often better than the Yellow pages.

Ask him if he's good enough to do the work while standing in a bucket of water.
