I am thinking of openign a banner exchange site and was wondering if anyone used these anymore or does it jsut clutter up your sites more?

I tried them when I started out in TGP. You show a shitload of banners, and they show a shitload of banners - you get very few clicks and like NO prod.

They are pretty crap these days. Unless you have a revolutionary way to do it.

Well the one I have the software for allows you to run a ratio'd free banner exchange. It's one code that rotates banners and runs a ratio, lets say for every 2 banners you show you get 1 credit that egts you a click, or soemthing like this. So your not pasting a ton of banners all over your site, it appears in one spot, would this not be a good idea?

The secret with banner exchanges is to ensure that you utilize a SINGLE account across multiple sites.

Also the better looking the banner.... the worse results it produces, you should use banners that have a transparent background and single EXIT | ENTER text on the banner itself perhaps with some shrude form of animation.

However, the true way to make banner exchanges work is to ensure that rather than being the webmaster who uses them, you are the webmaster that owns one ;)

Banner exchanges are not just about traffic but more importantly, branding your adult site across the web.

Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
