Nice way of saying Merry Christmas.

Hi ... Your Platinum Bucks account #### has been closed due to having a well below average conversion ratio.

You WILL be paid for all signups to date, but please remove all links.

I have been with Platinumbucks for almost a year and made lots of money. Sure my clicks are not high but I make the sales.

I don't see any problem here... basically they identified that they were unable to make a profit with you and needed to end the business relationship in order to remain profitable. You are being paid every penny owed until that email, so what's wrong?

I just wonder if they pay per sale, how would conversion ratio have anything to do with how much profit they make?

That happened to me with WEG Cash a long time ago, I wasn't getting enough upsells from my j4f traffic now that I know a bit more, I wish I could promote them again :\

Was that the best answer they could come up with?

Maybe they aren't making enough from your exit traffic, since your conversion is so good......

Its probably your trial to full memberships..

lots of webmasters will play games and have people signup, teach them to cancel etc..

we have been studying our numbers a lot harder..

if you sent 50 trials..and 48 of them cancel..they aint gonna make their money back..

They're probably referring to conversions from trial to full members.

See above, conversions from trial to full members is most likely the case.

Im not that low. I know the rules on this industry. I don't tell any surfer how to cancel their membership. That would be silly.

Fuck this, all links have been removed. Time to move on.

Funny how only the other day Platinum Dave was asking me to add more of their sites like college fuck tour to my sites because I was making the sales, now he closed it. Fucken great asshole.

Do you see a problem with them selling off our webmaster email addresses to spammers? Because I just got spammed for the fourth time in the last 24 hours to my Platinum Bucks email address. Yesterday my New Car was preauthorized from Fast Lane Loans twice, and today my New MasterCard was just authorized twice, as well.

It's nice to know who keeps our info confidential.

I was just referring to the termination of that webmaster. Naturally there's a certain level of privacy expected when dealing with sponsors.

This is the email i only got a week ago, now it looks personal to me but it could have been a mass email to all their members, so did anyone else get this?

I bolded and sized the most imported part of this email

Hey Dean,

Doug here again (re account ####). Well, another month has slid by. You were able to bring in a couple of sales, which is fantastic. But I KNOW we can do better!

Obviously you have a lot of space to fill with the scope of your sites, and I?ve noticed you?re missing one of our top converters . . . www.collegefucktour.com. Beyond that, everything looks good. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line . . . I?m here to answer any questions you have about our programs, our top converting sites or even the weather here in Toronto. Never hesitate to contact me . . .

Cheers,
Platinum Doug

Zorgman your account was closed because your conversion ratio from TRIAL to MEMBER was 19% compared to our company wide 35-37%

When we see numbers this low, we eventually find out the webmaster is cheating. In this case we didnt find anything so we paid you in FULL.

We told you we would pay you, so I dont see what the problem is here?

I think that keeping the member should fall on the sponsor. If their quality is shit, and they do one update a month, no one is going to stay a member. That isn't our fault. My job is to get them hard and to the join page... After that, they are in the sponsors hands.

I agree with you BlueFly, it's not the webmasters job to make sure the surfer continues their membership.

In this case it's Platinum Bucks that should look at their own sites and stop blaming people (like me) that don't have any interaction with their members.

Dave said he couldn't find any form of me cheating (which I don't) and yet he still cancelled my account.

I accept the fact that some webmasters cheat sponsors out of cash and when the proof it shown then it's good but there is no proof here, this was done on a whim!

PlatinumBucks, two questions

1) why didn't you tell him in your kiss off email what conversion rate you were talking about and his % versus the program's average?

2) why didn't you address Holly's question regarding spam?

That said, Platinum Bucks and other PPS programs have the right to terminate somebody whose traffic doesn't convert from trial better than 30%. If the sites in the program are converting from trial poorly across all affiliates then yeah there's a problem with the sites themselves and they won't be in business much longer.

this is a trend even with good sites, retention isn't great - at some point pay per signup commissions will have to drop to $20 max. At that point I think you'll see a stampede to revshare programs with exclusive content - it will be a psychological trigger I think - people just can't accept $15 or $20 per signup after years of $30 to $45 per signup.

Ya know I been around this business for a loooong time and it escapes me how some webmasters think they are owed something by sponsors.

Not saying you are, but PB severed with pay, and thats about best case scenario.

Sponsors have it tough these days, and have to implement so many things to stay within CC regs and make profits....

Someday webmasters will have to PAY to join a sponsor program.

Imagine that? :-))))

Its the paysite owners job to retain the members plain and simple.

Should Zorgman have been terminated, no idea i dont the rules you agree to when signing up to the PB program, is it fair that he was terminated? Hell no, if a paysite cant retain the surfers that a webmaster sends to the site, you dont punish the webmaster for it.

You look at what you have (or lack thereof in this case) in your members area and improve them, its that simple, webmasters get paid for sending surfers to our sites, if they dont convert then WE (paysite owners) havent done our jobs you dont can the webmaster

Hi ... Your Platinum Bucks account #### has been closed due to having a well below average conversion ratio.

You WILL be paid for all signups to date, but please remove all links.

Why not just switch his account over to a partnership? Hello?

Ok, I will take your and raise you :

This is not about paysites retaining, they stated their percentage between 35-37% I believe. This gent fell to 19%.

Is this a question of PB and maintaining membership or a webmaster being handled based on performance standards set by the masses and peers?

Some affiliate webmasters are worth more than just a "kiss off" email. This is not about taking sides, what I'm saying is that a guy like Zorg is a pretty good webmaster as far as I've ever been able to tell. Wouldn't it have been a better idea to "work with him" a bit rather than simply cutting him loose?

It's not that hard to email a guy and say "Look, we are having problems converting your traffic from trial to full. In order to prevent the deletion of your account with us, we are willing to work with you to improve the performance of your referred members."......

and go from there.

Like I say, maybe offer to change him over to a partnership, you know, rather than just canning him. It would be nice to see sponsors at least attempting to be a bit more reasonable and understanding about these things.

I totally agree with you CD. If I ran an affiliate program I would work with those who at least had a percentage and goal bust them upwards

Because.
