Do you ever sign up for a sponsor, and take one look at their affiliate area,

and decide not to push their sites because it's either horribly put together or just a bunch of bullshit steps to go through?

I have found quite a few sponsors fairly recently who's member areas have really discouraged me from pushing their sites, even though some of them are really good sites.

And no, it's not laziness. I get a laugh when people talk about lazy webmasters. fact of the matter is that it takes a lot more work to make a buck nowadays than it did a few years back, so anything that helps to expedite the process is very much appreciated.

That happens to much, I dont understand that some people that get that even free content should be quality. Damn, a sponsors free content represents the sponsor.......

I would suggest you to look at their content and check their FHG's BEFORE you signup. That was a reason why we launched FHGStore.com. Our resource is indended to save your time. Just give it a try and you'll see that I mean

yes, the thing that pisses me off the most is having to guess their linking codes

I'm doing a whole load of signing up to new sponsors, today I've signed up to about 15 or so ccbill sponsors and maybe 3 of them have given me the information I needed, the rest I've had to find the linking codes from their hosted galleries or stuffed around piecing together the different codes from the ccbill welcome email.

how hard is it for a sponsor to do this for their webmasters?????

we are investing heavily on our customers affiliate areas. We are about to start supplying them with flash reporting for anything you can imagine as well as reporting by zones.

Specific entrances can be created, and affiliates can find the target entrances (links already coded) easily.

We are working with our clients on getting free hosted galleries for their affiliates to use. (representing the content they have on their site).

I think a lot of it is a learning process they haven't gone through yet. The better you equip your affiliates, the more successful they will be at promoting your program.

Yes. I've also not pushed them because of shitty marketing material. I can't stand animated banners. A slow site has also caused me to drop sponsors.

absolutely...there is only so much time in a day. I can only promote a certain number of sponsors. If a sponsor does not impress me, I move on.

If they are poorly done I tend to shy away from them unless they came with a good refferal from someone I trust in the industry. Some of the best converting stuff I have advertized has had some whoreable affilate backends... (vestels is a good example if anyone remebmers them)

Bingo.

I'm glad you're working to acknowledge the effort webmasters put into promoting.

Try setting up a program with Epoch for the first time.
You'd be shocked at just how hard it is to get your hands on linking codes and referral codes.

There are two different conversations going on here.

The original question was "do you not promote a sponsor after seeing what's in their AFFILIATES area" (of the program site itself)...

most of you are commenting on what's in their MEMBERS areas (of their paysites)

Two totally different beasts.

Oh yeah, mainly just recurring sponsors though and usually just the ones that retention or conversions seem to suck for.
