![]() I had this tooth filled last year and right after I had it filled, a little part of the filling chipped.
It was a pretty deep filling... they almost wanted to do a root canal instead I guess. Well for whatever reasons, I never went back to that Dentist to have it fixed. But now when I floss there is a exposed nerve or something there that will send me through the roof if I hit it.... For the past year or so I have also been having lots of strange nerve sensations. burning and tingling etc.. (paresthesia) in my spine, on my forearm, and a lot along the bridge of my nose. I almost wonder if this bad tooth could be causing that? |

Quite possibly... I had a root canal yesterday (it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be) on a tooth that was long overdue for it, there must have been tons of rotting crap in there. I'd been feeling really inexplicably tired and almost depressed for a while, along with other wierd shit like mild dizzy spells, and it's almost magically gone away since I had the root canal done.
Go back and get it fixed anyway, because apparently if the decay inside the root gets bad enough there's no way to save the tooth and they just have to pull it (which would suck). |

I'm not sure if I would go for a root canal.
Not because the pain or whatever... I've never had one, but I think people hype of the pain. I just read (on the internet.. go figure) that root canals are bad for you too because they trap bacteria in there as well. And that, sadly, the best thing to do is remove that tooth. I suppose I could remove it and get a bridge. It's a back tooth anyway & the rest are all cool. |

My pops was a dentist, and I tell you, there are some NASTY that can grow under teeth. I honestly reccomend Daily flossing and brushing and regular listerine mouthwash at least 2 times a day.

I found the pain from the root canal was virtually non existant, and the process was no worse than getting a regular filling. From what I understand, molars are more complicated to do than other teeth because they have multiple roots, and if one is hidden the dentist can miss it, and that will trap some bacteria. For my tooth, the doctor just filed out the root and he said he put some anti-bacterial stuff in there too to kill anything that might be left in there. I think the reason they try to get you to save the tooth is because if you take an adult tooth out, it can make the other teeth spread out or tip over from the stress of chewing, and it can fuck up your whole row of teeth or jawline.
Having re-read your symptoms though, maybe you should go and see a doctor just in case... you have to be careful about anything with spines. |

They basically pat me on the back and tell me to come back when I'm fucked up enough to need a ride there. I've made a medical timeline over the past 3 years or so (since a lot of the things started happening) and all of the nerve realted problems came after I had that tooth filled. Could be coincidence I suppose.... I've had the flu this week or I would go in and have something done about that tooth. But I'm going to go in next week for sure though. |

I'm just not going to be the guy who has "I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK." on my headstone. Anyway there are a lot of remarkable things going on (according to bloodworkd and symptoms) that the doctors admittedly can't figure out.... their best suggestion is to just wait for it to get better -- or worse -- so they have something that is treatable pop up on the radar. They have wanted to give me predinsone... but I'll pass on becoming bloated like Jerry Lewis was. Not to mention all the other side effects with that drug. Using prednisone is the equivalent of smashing your cars engine warning light and saying "there, all better!" |
