what do vegetarians feed their pets?

I just wonder,
I know a lot of them are vegeterians because they dont support the killing of animals for food.
so what they feed their dog?
their cat?
I know dogs hate greens lol

Not all vegetarians are vegetarians because they don't like to kill animals. I consider myself a vegetarian because I don't agree with the USDA's standards for meat and poultry.

They don't give the animals clean water. They feed them diseased food, including the discarded parts of other sick animals.
when theyre born, the pump them full of growth hormones( the same hormones shown to speed up the growth of cancer cells in humans) and antibiotics wich don't allow for the natural strengthining of the immune system and makes diseases harder to fight. They are in cramped conditions often spending days on end standinf in their own feces which causes hoof/foot rot, plus there are worms in the shit that burrow up into the sores on the feet and get into the blood stream.

All that shit gets filtered in the bodies and stored in the tissue(the parts we eat)
and then we wonder why Americas kids are getting insanely obese (growth hormones) and why it is taking longer to get over bacterial/viral infections and needing the help of super strong mega-titanium strength anti-biotics.

I will eat hunted game (deer, elk, wild turkey, pheasant) but only in moderation ( the human intestine isn't really designed for meat). And I eat line caught fish as well.

At least theses animals had better water and food and fresh air.

Anyone who says the intestines of man is made for meat are idiots.

our teeth, nor our digestive system is made for meat.

trex had a 4 foot intestine to dispose of meat, ours combines are how many feet?

and dont even begin to argue teeth.

you can tell who here has been to college and who dropped out

As for my cats...

Canned cat/dog food is basically all the moldy and/or diseased cuts of meat that they cut of the inspection line when processing meat for human consumption. Then they add chemicals designed to kill or neutralize the bacteria. They mix that with some other shit, then can it and sell it to you for 49 Cents.

In studies done on animals fed an only/mostly canned food diet, they showed an alarming increase in cancer and diseases of the endocrine system. These are the parts in your body responsible for filtering out toxins, like your gallbladder, lymphnodes, spleen, bile ducts, etc.

Dry food is better as a whole if it's got to be something. They add grains and the meat is a little better quality. They also add extra vitamines and minerals essential for your pet. Taurine is one of the most important for cats. It is found in meat.

A vegetarian lady was feeding her cats rice and vegetables and they went blind (lack of taurine). It wouldn't be a problem if she supplemented their diet with taurine and other vitamins.

Thats what I do. My gets get a nutritional supplement and eat only organic kosher meats that I order special. As a treat, I sometimes give them a jar of babyfood.

I tried making my own cat food but it was a hassel unless I made big batches and then it didn't store for too long.

I also give them a dry food that I get at the health store that is made from organic meats, grains, and vegetables. They need the crunchy stuff to grind the plaque off their teeth and keep their gums healthy.

I am not going to argue teeth...I am going to tell you about teeth.

Teeth and the saliva in your mouth are the first step in the digestion. they get it ready for your stomach so your stomach doesn't have to use as much acid trying to break down the food.

We only have 4 incisors an 2 canines in our mouths (and that can take us to another discussion in evolutionary science). Aside from raptors(birds of prey), octopi, and squid, All other True Carnivores in the animal kingdom have at least 12 incisors and 6 canines. And its not so much the front teeth that get the food as ready as it is the back teeth.

And ours are flat, broad, and conical, go figure, the same as all the other herbavores.

As for Trex having a 4 foot intestine that would be the equivelant of humans having a 6 inch intestine. Oh and Barbie has one too.

The average intestine is 23 feet.
If Trex had one equivelent to ours his would be almost 200 feet.

I was agreeing with you that we are not meat eaters.

too funny.

man is not a meat eater, regardless of what you or anyone else says, we chose to be, not that we are intended to be.

I'm always trying not to shoot myself in the foot and i end shooting supporters instead.
I need to get a new soapbox!

Interesting post.

I was reading a blog the other day that posted government regulations on processed foods. Quite disturbing. The government actually allows a certain portion of processed foods to have bug part, bug excrement, animal hairs, etc and still label the food as "fit for human consumption."
