There's a man found dead.

He is hanging from a rafter in his basement, it appears that he has hung himself.

The only problem is that there are no stools or any other kind of furniture anywhere in the bsement, only a puddle of water.

How did the man hang himself?

He flooded the basement, attached the noose while floating as the basment drained, once it was drained he was hanged.
