Good question Juicy.. well, just think about it. Not everything chews alot of bandwidth. This machine will be used for processing (stuff), running db:s etc. I could have gone with a virtual one but feel its better to keep all the cpu power for myself, not to mention security.

Exmasters are resellers. I bet that D1 server is at just $75 or even lower where they take it.

I remember Chocker said he took Cel1.7 servers capped at 2Mbit from servermatrix at just $65, but he took a lot of them, so $65 was a discounted price...

Actually, that would be expensive.

ServerMatrix offers 1000gb bandwidth every month. Converted to mbits that would be around 3mbit a month. Price? $69 a month as stated on their website.

If you want cPanel with Server Matrix you have to pay an additional monthly $20 though.

Nah that was with Valueweb. I have a few servermatrix boxes for $69 a month right now, we do not have them capped since their overage is only 50 cents a gig over

Give National-Net a looksie. Basic starter server is great, fully managed too. Their support/tech response time has been an average of 6 minutes to get what I needed done.

Cheers,
Matt

maybe someone can explain this to me. why is it i can get 1000gb xfer for $69/month with 99 setup but if i want to make it 1500gb its $319 plus 99 setup. its cheaper to buy 4 servers with 1000gb than 1 server with 1500gb xfer. maybe someone can make sense of this to me.

It's hard to tell... Hosting plans are often weird. Some hosters do not even actually count the traffic. They just assume that it's impossible to burn more than 1000G with 1.7 Celeron... I remember I managed to burn around 50G per day according to Webalizer (which means actually more due to packets fragmentation) with Sagonet. They still charged me the same $99. But I do not recommend Sagonet to anyone now... Seems things gone insane in their billing and tech depts after they merged with United Colo...

We have had many many hosting companies and the best one is http://www.sinhost.com. They are cheap, professional and if you tell them we sent you, you get the 2nd month free.
