Spyware, Browser Hijackers, and what you can do about it.......

Since the growth in this has been rapid and alarming, and how some ppl feel it is their RIGHT to try and damage our systems, I am posting what can be done about this.......had problems last week with the "thebestse.com" motherfukin assholes.......this is what can be done if you are suffering.......

First of course, run ad-aware, from lavasoft and spybot search and destroy...........however, for the tough browser hijackers, this will simply not suffice.........go get hijack this and run a scan.......if you don't know what entries to remove, do a google search on your particular browser hijacker and you will probably come up with something on what to remove............

keep pounding away with spybot and ad-aware after this and the problem should be alleviated

Ad-aware:

Spybot Search & Destroy:

HiJackthis:

http://download.com.com/3000-8022-10...ml?tag=lst-0-1

Any other helpful suggestions should be added to this thread as I know there are a lot of ppl suffering out there due to these giant assholes who need to be lead-piped, like lop.com etc

Peace out.

Great post, Spybot Search and destroy will also let you lock your hosts file so it can't be hijacked.

Another couple of links
<a href="http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html">Spywareblaster</a>
will prevent spyware from being installed.

<a href="http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_avg_index.php">AVG Antivirus</a>
look on the page for the free personal download

a good properly setup firewall and virus software goes a long way here to prevent this kind of stuff.

a good firewall will let you know when this crap is trying to get in and you can deny it access right then.

just my

here is a cool tool

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/f...tartupList.exe

A simple tool that lists all and every auto starting program on your system. You might be surprised what it finds, this is way better than Msconfig. Commonly used to troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, trojan/viral infections, new spyware/malware breed and the likes.

Download firebird from mozilla.org.

Much safer for surfing. I've never had firebird get hijacked yet although I'm sure it will happen one of these days, but until then I'll keep smiling.

You can also uninstall Microsoft Java VM to stop browser hi-jacking. Then install Sun's Java from their website. Also get CWShredder for the "Cool Web Search" hijacking.

Nice post.
i use the latest microsoft security patches.
hijackthis on startup
scan with cwshredder, ad-aware..
and i use pestpatrol
to scan for spyware & worms

sometimes you have some very agressive files on board:

i could not close or delete a software piece
from task manager, and no software dedected that shit...
if this happens close
Svchost.exe applications in your task manager
and quickly delete the spyware program
svchost is used for running DLL applications...

maybe this helps
bye
