hmm, a very interesting MPA2 thing

The stats query for MPA2

select site, ROUND(sum(partner_uniques)*partner_paid),fm from mpa2.stats where date>='2004-06-15' and date<='2004-06-15' and webmaster='xxxxxx' group by site,date,referrer,uniques_paid,uniques_p,signup_p aid,partner_paid,date,webmaster,fm order by site

To me the part that I put in bold is sketchy.

Lets say partner_uniques sums up to 1000 and partner_paid = 0.8

ROUND(1000*0.8) = 800

Now there's 800 uniques instead of 1000.

I could be wrong that it's used like that, but it sure seems possible

The measure of a sponsor is NOT the software they use, but what they do with it. We're looking forward to the upgrade to MPA3 but have been on MPA2 with SinBucks since last September. The ability to shave was built into the software, but only a fucking prick would use it.

That's why you should know your sponsors! Anybody can cheat with any software. Unfortunately, in that release they just made doing that simple... a headache for those of us who would never consider doing such a thing.

My

Brad

It's well known that MPA2 has shave built in. I think it's the first screen that shows when the program manager logs in.

damn man joo must be the l33t hacker programmer.. to reprogram an entire affiliate software system in only 30 mins..

SinEmpire, with all do respect you can never "know" your sponsor. This is the Internet we can only "know" a very limited amount about the people we do business with. Just because you go to a big convention party's every few months and they get you drunk, doesn't mean they aren't shaving you silly when they get home.

The only thing we can act on is our gut feeling and what we see in our stats. It's already been proven that MPA2 has a shave feature, that's enough for me to stay away from sites using it. I don't give two shits about the argument that, anyone could program it into their software in 30mins. The simple fact is I know for a "fact" their software has it but I don't know for a fact the others guys have it.

oralcash.com is still under CCBill as far as I can see. You might mean facialcash.com (the cum on her face program)

Yes, even one in which the code is compiled. It's not hard. Now the people I dont' like are the programmers that make it and the sponsers that use it!

Hey, I never said it was easy to know your sponsors. I understand your frustration, we all have it because even us affiliate programs are still affiliates for other programs too. Every backend can be made to shave, even those programs that use only a 3rd party billing company can shave.

My point is that any program is only as good and honest as it's owners. You have to put everything in perspective with MPA2, when it came out it was unique with the rich selection of features - the single most robust software platform out there. So, shaving aside, it was one of the best systems a sponsor had to choose from at that time to serve their program. I looked at everything else out there and when I first got it there wasn't even a close second in terms of performance, functionality and value.

Today, the landscape is different. There are a multitude of affiliate program back-ends and so there is much more out there to choose from. I think that competition in that sectore has raised the bar and because of that there are some superior options in the marketplace right now. I'm looking forward to having my installation upgraded to MPA3. The whole clicktruth plug-in sounds pretty interesting so with some more research I might decide to add it. However, I don't seem to have the credibility issues that some sponsors have so I don't think it would benefit me very much.

Cheers,

Brad

Yea I completely understand where you are coming from on wanting to use the best software you can get for your needs.
I completely understand any program can have a shave feature built into their system. However my argument is MPA2 and possibly MPA3 come complete with a built in shave feature. IMO any company that offers software with the specific function of being able to steal money from it's affiliates, is a company I want nothing to do with.

If there is any way I can use these boards to make a company like that change the way they do business then I will do so. I have nothing against the affiliate programs that use MPA software. But I will pull my links and boycott sponsors using this software until it is proven they have changed their software and taken out the shaving features.

I'm a nobody in this industry, but I will do my part to try and change this BS and not just accept it. If more affiliates decide to do the same then maybe things will change.

$30 - $35 per join is a bitch to produce even for us cats that have been around for a few years, so I take pride in the fact that we squeeze every penny out of your traffic and don't play any bullshit games.

Every pennies worth of traffic you send is paid for...

Come "get to know SoulCash". We don't shave and you can prove it. You and your buddies create an account any time you want and send as many joins as you want, then post your results and drive new webmasters to our program.

Just let me know when your done so we can refund all monies billed and cancel the account.
