An unabashed racist will represent the Republican party in the November election for a congressional seat after a write-in candidate failed to derail his effort.

With 86 percent of the primary vote counted Thursday, write-in candidate Dennis Bertrand had just 1,554 votes compared to 7,671, or 83 percent, for James L. Hart, a believer in the discredited, phony science of eugenics.

Hart, 60, vows if elected to work toward keeping "less favored races" from reproducing or immigrating to the United States. In campaign literature, Hart contends that "poverty genes" threaten to turn the United States into "one big Detroit."

That's quite a sweeping statement. When was the science of eugenics discredited, by whom, and has the Galton Society been informed? Yet another case of journalists trying to mold opinions instead of merely reporting the news.

I looked at his site.

I will save our cities by stopping welfare and immigration and replacing it with a war on poverty genes, ad nonviolent eugenic program based on individual merit, not group averages.

What is his final solution to get rid of Poverty Genes? Getting rid of welfare will not get rid of poverty.

Anybody remember David Duke?

It's harder to get a job as a clerk in the post office than it is to get hired to represent a political party, at least they have to pass psych and background checks....
