Show us your faveorite art (pics)

We are an industry that is all about visual stimulation. Other than porn share with us a bit of the art that you enjoy.

I have to admit that I am not close to being 'artsy' but there are some artists to whom I have always been drawn.

One of them is Keith Haring..when I step back and look at his works I have to admit that I don't always understand why I like them and why I am drawn to them but I have been since I was in my early teens. I think that is because that is when he was in the news because of his HIV/AIDS death back when HIV/AIDS deaths made the headlines and I became aware of him because of that publicity. Plus, he is from an area not too far from where I grew up.

Anyway....a few examples:

What are some of your favorite works of art?

It was the base for a table in an ancient Roman house (the table top went on top of the griffins' wings). Currently on display at the Getty Villa in Malibu - soon to be returned to Italy.

Carved from marble.

about everything Dali made

Same goes for Escher

And this videoclip from Tool called Schism is also a gem imho. I consider this clip and this track art. Klick the pic for the video.

Dali is indeed cool...his stuff is the only stuff in the Tate Modern I can look at and not want to roll my eyes into the back of my skull.

Art discussion yummy.

Dali stands out as one of my favorite painters. I really enjoyed the surrealist movement. Veristic surrealism is going to make a comeback in the next 20 years I think. I was never a real fan of automatism, and there's nothing I find lamer than abstrct expressionism...

A couple of my top favorite paintings

Metamorphosis of Narcissus - Dali

Swans Reflecting Elephants - Dali

Madonna Of Port Ligat - Dali

and of course the staples like Persistence of Memory, I think Dali did most of his best work in the late 30's and 40's. Any pieces which really took the paranoiac critical method to it's extreme's are sure to be greats. there's too many Dali paintings i could post, but these are three of his better.

Then we have a few other good surrealists

Infinite Divisibility - Yves Tanguy

The Librarian - Martins De Barros

Castle Of the Pyrenees - Rene Magritte

Speedy & Speed - Mariola Bogacki

Genesis - Mariola Bogacki

This is true and reminds me of Ansel Adams who I think really managed to capture nature's beauty even in black and white photography.

I have a thing for pop art and I like Coop's devil stuff like:

and

Plus, he does a lot of 'fat girl' art that ends up as tattoos on BBW lover's bodies. Such as this lady which one past boyfriend once said was an an artistic impression of me when I was in an naughty mood:

I've always liked photography and to me black and white is so much more dramatic than color so I'm a big Ansel Adams fan. I have a few prints of his but I'd like to get some more. Here's some of his stuff on art.com in case you're not too familiar with his work...

I can appreciate why it is a good work of art but it suffers from being over exposed in that it is everywhere so I almost don't 'see' it when I see it but instead it just washes by me.

Salvatore Dali.. I've been at Dali museum in Spain last year... if trip to Spain don't miss that... also note that lines in front of the museum can be very long and you can expect sometimes up to 6hrs of waiting to get inside... so get there early... or go in groups since the groups have priority and are entering on at the scheduled time...

Van Gogh - I've also been to the Budapest few months ago to see the biggest to date Vang Gogh exhibition... but some of his best works were not shown there, so I was kind of disappointed....

............
and so on....
