ePassporte Alert: account ID flavinho78 is trying to hijack affiliate payments

ePassporte ID flavinho78 is trying to hijack webmaster payments to his ID.

The last time he tried this, he used [email protected].

All other sponsors please take note to make sure this guy isn't trying to steal from one of your webmasters.

I had the EXACT same problem with this fucker before. I complained many times to epassporte, finally have to complain through a sponsor that uses them before they did anything..

It's a fucking shame, I wonder how much money he's jacked and epassporte actually kept.

I just got an email from the guy again asking to get payouts on my program changed to another person, and even asking other programs to change my payout to his epassporte.

Epassporte! Nuke this guys account NOW!

I reported this account to epassporte months ago.

that is what worries me the most about this...

no program should ever let someone change ANYTHING without making a secure request from the affiliates members area...and if you don't have a secure form within the members area for affiliates, then you're doing something wrong...get it now!

JaceXXX is right.

Changing payment information is something that should be taken *very* seriously. Confirming your affiliates identity is a no-brainer when making changes of any kind.

And to reiterate what I posted before...
ePassporte, just as with PayPal, allows you to move money to someone with simply a username (or with PayPal, an email address). This is why it is important to know your affiliates. Just as Visa has the "know your customer" rule, you should know your affiliates.

Accounts flavinho78 and guido25 were blocked on July 12th. Since that time, it has been impossible to send money to either account. Try it yourself and you'll get a message that says " The account you are trying to transfer funds to is currently unavailable. Please try your transfer again later. Thank you."

What makes me curious is why this issue is coming up in November when the accounts were blocked in July.

Each sponsor is responsible for knowing who they are doing business with. In a case such as the one above, the fraudster pulls the money out of the account immediately so there is no chance for reversal of the transaction.

.
I would imagine that ce got an email about why someone had not recieved a check in months, and ce checked into it and noticed it was set to payout by epassporte and the name was not the users epassporte account..

Just a guess though..

I'm wondering why epassporte has not simply called the police on this matter.. He cant get the cash OUT of his account without being verified by epassporte , so you should have the theftee's address and contact info..

Apology accepted.

If eP had not blocked the account, however, your comments would be understandable.

Now, let's get you signed up with an eP account.

It is coming up now because he is still trying to change webmaster account payments over to his epassporte account.

Have you notified him that his accounts were closed? Apparently he seems to think they are still open.

When an account is suspended or blocked, the ePassporte account holder receives an email to their ePassporte address notifying them of the interruption in service. (A blocked or suspended account cannot do any financial transactions, but can still check their eP email.)

Each of these accounts were notified. But seeing their past behavior of receiving a transfer and pulling the funds out immedialty makes me beleive they *do* know the accounts are suspended. I agree with you it seems that this guy is not aware of it, but I can only chalk that one up to stupidity.

Yes, this guy has been blocked since July. But that doesn't mean he doesn't have other accounts and will try the same scam again and the only way ePassporte is going to know about it is when someone reports him.

Rand,

I'm curious to know how much of my payouts have gone into this persons hands. When I contacted Epassporte before, they advised me that they will not discuss payment transfers on these abused accounts.

How are we, as webmasters, going to know if this little fag changed our payout to epassporte, and got funds from us? If you say this guy got money in there, it's most likely from me because he first started with my accounts back in July, the time you mentioned they were closed after we made a stink about it along with some people from TCG.

Was there money left in that account? Can you tell us who sent payments to it, or can you inform them? We have no way of knowing if you simply said no money was sent, or if it was kept or forgot about, or if the webmasters are still trying to pay that account out but believe it's inactive and will work again so they keep trying.

Thanks

you would fucking think huh? but not one sponsor so far has stepped up in here to address that issue...so instead of hitting the problem at the root, they are just sawing the branches off

makes me weary of a lot of things right now

ePassporte is obliged to keep transaction data for accounts (other than your own) private.

The only way to find out *if* funds were transferred and if so *how much* would be to ask your sponsor who was the originator of the transaction.

ePassporte does work with the authorities to combat fraud when appropriate pursuant to all laws and regulations.

I can't speak more specifically about this case, but in relation to this matter anyone who had their payouts diverted because of this fraudster needs to speak with their sponsor for specifics.
