A friend of mine sent in about $10,000 worth of applications and scored not one, but two green card acceptance letters. And, he was Japanese, which is pretty rare.

Once you're in you'll be talking in abbreviations all the time. GC, EAD, NOA, AP, AOS, SSN

You can have the entire process done in 90 days if you move to Dallas and participate in the Dallas Pilot Program. You get your GC within 90 days and it's perfectly fine to move to Dallas solely for this reason. http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffic...t_overview.htm

With this Pilot Program you get your interview on the first day and simply wait 90 days for the background check to be completed. Good luck!
