I think that anything that helps turn this war into a neverending nightmare for the Bush administraion is a good thing.

On a side note, I think that gays should be allowed to serve in the military. Homosexuals should not be denied the right to volunteer to be fresh meat for the capitalist system.

Jeez, I can't fucking belive this country in at times, we're at war and they are more concerned with who their translators are sleeping with.

Someone should remind them if this "Don't ask, don't tell" policy was in place during WWII, we might either still be at war, or I'd be typing this in german as many of the top cryptographers at the time were gay.

Homosexuals are allowed to serve in the military. They are made aware that they cannot announce the fact that they are homosexual and they are made aware that they cannot engage in homosexual conduct...during their term of enlistment. Some of them simply do not have enough self control to abide by the regulations for the two-six years of their initial enlistment or do not want to fulfill their contractual military obligation...thus they violate the regulations. They...like all soldiers...must follow regulations or they are subject to pay consequences for their disobedience of regulations.

The military is not placing homophobia ahead of national security. The military is applying obedience to regualtions...for all of its personell...and homosexuals are not excluded from obedience to regulations...nor are those personell with select MOS's.

So straight guys don't sleep with 1 or more women? It's hypocritical. A limitation to a soldier stating that their conduct can't interfere with/or be on military property, but you shouldn't say specifically "homosexual conduct" ...

Call it "hypocritical" or whatever you want to call it. The military made this descision many years ago...it is regulation...and all soldiers are required to obey regulations. Homosexuals are not required to serve in the military...they volunteer for the military...and are made aware of the regulations. When they choose to violate the regulations they are discharged...end of story.

Explain to me, then, why it is written in the regulations that any sexual intercourse other than "missionary position" is illegal as well for soldiers "during their term of enlistment", (or any uniformed member of the US armed forces), and yet no one gets called on that one?

If you think that the US military isn't homophobic, you're out of your mind. Anything they can get against you will be used against you, especially if you're gay. Why the hell do you think the damn sodomy laws are in place?

Basically "what the USAF's are saying is"...all soldiers must obey regulation...irregardless of MOS...and irregardless of your personell approval...or lack there of...of a particular regulation.

The same applies in the civilian world...one is required to obey law...irregardless of ones personal approval...or lack there of...of a particular law.

Maybe you should be reminded that the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy is a relatively new policy. During the 2nd World War...they did ask and if you stated that you were a homosexual you would be denied the previlige of serving in the military...thus serving their country. The "don't ask, don't tell" allows homosexuals the previlige of serving in the military...thus serving their country.
