Gallery Submitters and Comus Thumbs Users!
Just a "short" question, as some of you might know I'm building submision Databases for Advancedsubmitter (see Signture), but I'm having the following Problem with Comus Thumbs and it's feature to manually Crop a Preview Thumbnail.
Although I'm using correct Preview Thumb sizes and reasonable Filesizes a few (~5-10%) of TGPs that use Comus seem to decline my Preview Thumbs and forward me to manually crop a Thumb, which is rather disturbing cause it costs a lot of time during submission and it's rather useless cause I've already made a perfect Preview Thumb in PS, so I don't see the sense of making another one. ![]() So I'm trying to figure out since 2 weeks what could make these Comus Scripts think that my Preview Thumbs aren't good enough and that I'd need to crop one manually. It can't be the dimensions, cause they always fit, and I've also tried different (smaller) filesizes, which solved that problem with a lot of Sites but not all. So I'm asking if anyone have found a way around that, or if anybody knows how Comus detects the "Quality" of a Preview Thumb? |

They can set max file size on the thumbs, or comus can be set to make you crop a thumb no matter what you do. You probably just ran into a few sites where the webmaster has it set to force you to crop the thumb, nothing you can do about it.

And if the webmaster just set the script to force the croping tool upon their submitters, is there still a field to be filled for the Preview Thumbnail, or does the script just don't give you the chance anymore to upload your own Thumb as I've seen it already a few times? |
