I wouldn't pay anything even close that amount to see them! They both kinda suck now. I guess Aerosmith is alright, but G-N-R? They need to crawl back in the whole they came out of. They went way south after Welcome To The Jungle.
I'd pay $20 to see them, but anything more than that...fugedaboutit!

um, actually, G N R was this past weekend

Aerosmith plays with Cheap Trick the 11th...

and don't forget...the 17th...ANTHRAX (the band) and Judas Priest....

I'm thinking of also checking out Pennywise the 5th...then of course February 2nd, Static X and Soufly...Static X puts on an amazing show....even though I'm pissed at the for their pussy stuff during a recent ourdoor show for a local radio station.....

GnR toured Europe this summer. Thing is, Slash isn't part of it. Which they never advertised and pissed off a lot of people because basiclly it is just Axel. IMHO with out Slash it is just a band with a nutzo lead singer.

Slash spends alot of his time in the UK these days. Even appears on a tv music related game/comedy show called 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks' from time to time.

His playing turns me into jelly. If him and Carla Santana played at the same time I would be a wreck..totally amazing stuff.

any act that is arrogant enough to charge $130+ for a ticket needs to be slapped and sent to work at mcdonalds for a few months so they can remeber where they came from. I've seen a lot of concerts and many of them were good, a few were really good but the majority of them were let downs because the music didn't sound as good live ( which I think is slam on the bands because they aren't as good as you would think and need the studio trickery to sound good ) I saw GnR right when the user your illusion discs came out and almost all the original people were still in the band. they were 45 minutes late then 3 different times axl went off about the spotlights and threatened to leave the crowd pleaded for him to stay and I couldn't help but think : "fuck this guy he's making like it's my fault he can't hire lighting guys that do as he asks and that I should feel honored to have paid $30 to see him. He's the one that should be honored that 15,000 people dropped $30+ to come see his drug addicted ass."

Anyway after that night I pretty much stopped listening to them. The most I have ever payed for a concert was Roger Waters and I paid $50 and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

When I lived in Los Angeles Santana came to the Greek Theatre and I saw every seat in the first 3 rows were $300 a seat. I'm not a big Santana fan and he comes off like a really nice guy, but asking that much for a ticket to a concert really tells you what type of person he is.

Anyway, I'm done ranting and am going to bed.

sleazy, you are probably mixing this up with either the lead singer of G-F-Y, or kurt cobain ...

Andrew Dice Clay is performing there after internext - it's well worth the extra stay - hell I'd chill in Vegas for 5 months just to wait and see Dice!

Trivia question time:

Did you know that Slash (under a different name) wrote 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'? Yup he did, the music not the words. The chourus bits were his gutair. Search out the Dweevil Zappa version to hear what it originally sounded like.

Course, in the UK Travis released a version in their style. Only proves that a song can be made or ruined by the people that sing it.

Slash quit the band like 5 years ago.

I would be VERY interested to see what Guns n Roses is like these days. Aparrently the guy they got to replace Slash is named Buckethead,
there's a picture of him here http://www.geocities.com/vbg22/pictu...s/bucketg7.htm

I read that he's some kind of crazy guitar virtuoso. And I heard that at the concert where that fat Axl picture was taken (hilarious, by the way) they stole the show.

So yes, I'd go see GnR. Axl Rose has like, lost his mind, and that alone is enough to lure me in.

Slash has his own band (snakepit) and a couple of records out, they both suck enough...

GNR, sucked big time before and still do, the only good adition is Buckethead (he uses a KFC bucket as a hat and a weird mask) he outplays Slash by a long mile, a true virtuoso, not only blurry pentatonic shredding (slash again?)

Slash only played with Michael Jackson in one song, MJ's regular guitar player is Jenniffer Batten, another kick ass virtuoso girl

I wouldn't pay to see GNR, but Aerosmith and Cheap Trick, definitively get my approval

oh yes, Jennifer Batten is a hottie...she played with Jeff Beck on his last tour and just tears it up...

as for the ticket prices, a lot of that is determined by the promoter, the agents, management, etc. as a former concert promoter, I can tell you the sheer hell of putting up with record execs...what a bunch of cockwits...ticket prices have skyrocketed in Vegas due to most of the bands playing places like ouse Of Blues and The Hard Rock which have fewer seats, so have to charge higher prices to meet the band's minimum appearance fee....when we were originally going to do Euro-Woodstock, it was scary some of the appearance fees...I'm glad the backers pulled out and ended up saving us a lot of headaches ;))) $150K for 3 songs from Ricky Martin, aye aye aye...maybe I should have stuck with music instead of porn ;)))
