meta tag question

If you have a term and several brands, can you stuff your meta keywords with "brand1 term, brand2 term, brand3 term, brand4 term,..." or is repeating the term considered meta stuffing? Should the term be slightly changed, although you are really optimizing for each brand term?

I've posted this in another thread, but I am afraid it will get buried under junk.

Opinions?

Regardless of how you break up your keywords tag (commas, spaces, semi-colons, etc.), each occurance of each word is counted, and generally it's not safe to have any word more than four times. I usually limit myself to three.

All you need to do, is have the more important word (common word) listed first in the tag.

So you'd just do "term, brand1, brand2, brand3,.."? Did I get that right?

Any more opinions on the matter?

To be honest - you would be a lot better off spending the time looking at the keywords, links etc or else having a beer.

MetaTags are worth ZERO in Google - it just totally ignores them. Most other search engines follow the same approach. The only off-page Tag worth considering is the Title Tag which is actually very important.

And the description tag, which is also quite important.

As for separate brands, wouldn't you be better off to just make four separate pages, put individualized brand-specific keywords on each and then link them together? I must be tired and missing some key point.
