Nah I don't own fish. But I knew a guy in college that had this amazing fish tank which was like an entire world that he controled from the fresh water shrimp to exotic plants. It was a pretty cool tank too and the way he set it up with the right type of fish and bottom feeders he got it to be pretty self-sustaining (very minimal cleaning was needed) except for the food that he needed to add.

I've had mine up for over a year and its never needed cleaning. If you do it right, get your biological filter working, dont overfeed the fish, and keep the ph balanced, they really dont need much else.

it is for real.... and the swimming pool is right behind where I was standing to take the pic.

I have 18 koi in that pond... ranging from 4" to 16". 4 of them are platinums, 4 of them gold... the rest mottled.

"God" is kinda strong, and leads things in a sorta megalomaniacal direction --

For me, it was always a desire to make something, but also an intense desire (no, a thrill, really) to bring a "capsule" of a very different, very far away place -- complete with the inhabitants of such a place -- into my close keeping.

That's why for me the most exotic habitations, which are, of course the most difficult to recreate and maintain, were always the most appealing.

Here's a mini-reef tank I had in New York...

I was at this party last month, this guy had two ponds in his living room one with sharks and one with huge goldfish looking things.

It was so James Bond, totally cool.

Oh, beg to differ, Elli -- technology is very much a part of it, and systems design, and a nice foundation of organic chemistry (just to give a prospective "God" the fullest satisfaction in his work) never hurt --

check it out, I actually have this kick ass waterproof case for my Nikon that I got for taking it out on the ocean.... so a few weeks ago I got this bright idea to stick the camera in the pond and take some pics of the fish..... but most of them went and hid behind a plant as soon as I stepped in, and the others moved too fast to capture.... lol

this is the best I could get

the ones you're looking at there are roughly 13" - 14"
