WTF? Registerfly

Do they regularly lock down new customer accounts or am I just having my usual needle in a haystack luck?

On Sunday I registered 2 domains through them and put in for a transfer of 3 of my domains currently at DirectNic to them so I could use their Protectfly service on them.

I logged into the account a couple days ago and found the account locked. It gave me a risk@ email address to contact for details. I wrote to it and also checked my online banking and confirmed that my purchases at Registerfly had gone through and the money sent to them the day before they locked the account.

I've not heard back from them, but yesterday I got the notices from DirectNic that the domains will be transferred within 3 days.

I am unable to call long distance from this phone (their risk dept. is not toll-free) so today I will either have to go to a relative's to call or go get a calling card and hope I can get through to someone. These are 3 domains that I really don't want to lose, so if I am unable to clear whatever is up with Registerfly I will have to put a cancel on the domain transfers.

Anyone else ever have a similar experience or have suggestions or contacts I might try to reach at Registerfly?

yeah if you just call them they unlock it pretty quick.

this isn't toll free? 1.866.4.REGFLY

Just find a way to call them and it shouldn't take long. I actually had (might still have) an issue with them regarding my bank putting a block on just them due to their offshore location when I made too many purchases. So my card wasn't working to pay for anything, and it ended up blocking my account. Called them it takes no time to unblock it. Good luck!

Thanks. The number it told me to call when I tried to log into the account wasn't toll-free. It had an extention I'm supposed to ask for.

Cool, I was able to enter that extention at the toll-free number, all's well now. Thanks cherrylula

Wonder what would have happened if I hadn't logged into Registerfly and saw the restricted message? I've been pulled away from work with family stuff the last couple days and my little time was spent with HTML and FTP and according to my email I had new domains (which were working) and transfers in progress.

When I called the lady said I had perfect timing as she was just in the process of cancelling the charges for my account, but after verifying my card all was well.

Being Friday and going into the weekend I often get pulled away from the computer so it's possible I might have missed any message sent on the 3rd day after DirectNic released the domain (on Sunday, the day I'm gone for the most hours). If this was Friday 3 weeks ago, I would be away from the computer for nearly a week after a complicated wisdom tooth extraction. Would my domains have been sent back to DirectNic until I intervened or would they have gone into limbo when Registerfly deleted the account?
