In the E-mail the following information was provided...

There been alot of pretty creepy emails commin out lately.
Here is one I got yesterday, how it broke through the filters I dunno.

What are Soft Tabs that everyone is talking about?
A Soft Tab is an oral lozenge, mint in flavor, containing pure
Tadalafil Citrate that is placed under your tongue and dissolved.

This is most modern and safe way not to cover with shame!

Interested?

Get more information

The link went to a Financial site...
THey got the profile right but they didnt get the ad right!

They almost always look "official".. Some of these guys even put real links to paypal on them... but the link they want you to click is usually an IP address or some other domain, maybe with "paypal" in it to try and trick you.. so you should be able to tell if it's a "real" email from paypal or not by checking that... in either case, never click on those sorts of emails.. go to the site manually..

King (and all) http://www.getthunderbird.com use thunderbird. Hover over the links and look at the bottom statusbar (like in a browser) of where the REAL url is going to take you. If it's not what you expect, it's probably a phishing attempt.

Well...in fact before I did click on the link provided in the E-mail...I logged into my account using paypal.com and everything appeared to be in order. It was at that point that I clicked on the link provided in the E-mail.

The tip off for me was this...

Quote:
We are contacting you to remind you that on 19 March 2005 our Account Review Team identified some unusual activity in your account.
I have not received any prior E-mails.

The biggest tell-tale sign that it is a fake is that the real Paypal will always address their email to you personally. They will put "Dear ::yourusername::: at the top of the email.

The fakeass ones always have "Dear paypal user" or something similar.

Never click their bullshit. They'll want you to verify your account information, but all you're doing is telling them how to rip you off if you fall for it.

Anyway, better to ask than to get swindled. Good think you didn't fall for it king.
