Just because somebody likes nascar doesn't mean anything other than they like to see cars go fast.

Soccer, Nascar, Hockey = Boring. Very boring.

Formula One, NFL, WRC = Exciting. Very exciting.

And the fact you Euros can get SO worked up about a sport where 50% of the games come down to lame penalty kicks after three f-ing hours of play is insane.

Why not just start the game with penalty kicks, and the first side that makes it wins? Save you all a lot of time so you can get back to bitching about the EU Constitution.

... Because i'd much rather watch 5 seconds of play, then see everyone stop to re-create their play in the NFL. I dispise Football, and 'American Football'

Whilest I agree that nascar is boring, as with any other sport where things go around and around in circles, it doesn't mean people who like it are anything worse than you are.

I think I'd be so fucking happy if I could enjoy watching cars go around in circles, really. I can't imagine how great I'd feel if that entertained me.

Obviously, millions of people have already achieved that, and enjoy nascar racing. Good on them!

I think american football is unbelievable boring, with those cars going round and round in circles.. well.. doesn´t really do it for me either, but at least there is non stop action.
Worst sport must be sailing though... watching boats just lie there in the water because there is no wind.. good tranquilizer.

If you think NASCAR racing is just "watching cars run around in circles," it plainly evident you have no concept of 'strategy.' Strategy is what the whole thing's about, not speed.

Due to the strategy angle, my favorite types of racing are the "world's fastest motor sport," Air Racing (524mph via prop, an old Navy Bearcat), and America's Cup Yacht racing. Speed isn't a factor in Yacht racing. Again, it's strategy. Oh, and throw NASCAR and Indy in between those two.

If it just "goes in circles" to you, you've missed the best part of the equation.

I like Formula One but if the courses were circles I would never watch it.
And I love soccer too, I think someone here said it games lasts 3 hours, not sure, but actually they're 2 45-minute periods.

And I don't watch much Euro soccer, but most Brazilian soccer games there are goals. And in lots of then, 4 or more. Maybe it's more aggressive, I dunno, some famous Brazilian player (don't remember now, just woke up. lol) who has spent 3 years in a famous Spanish club said he was having difficulties to re-adapt to the faster pace of soccer here.

Anyway, I find lots of the aforementioned sports boring to death, but I think it's ridiculous to say people are morons becase they enjoy this or that.

I'm over 25 and I love Buffy and Smallville

Every one of you, even the idiots running their beaks about IQ's etc.... have ALL slowed down at one time or another to look at an accident scene.

Watching racing holds very little difference.....

There's your one clue. Is it still too hard to figure out? :D

my neck is quite red, but I'm not a NASCAR fan (well, I'm a fan of the NASCAR marketing machine, but not the actual racing itself) but I'm not one to look down on those who do..it could be worse, they could be soccer fans...
the only way I'd ever watch a complete soccer game is if there were landmines on the field or some shaolin monks playing ;-)) (semi-obscure movie reference for the non-retarded)

That's not NASCAR. Very few races have crashes like that. Anyone who watches races for crashes besdies being sick well is going to have to watch A LOT of boring racing before he gets to se a serious accident.

I never said it was nascar dude. But it is racing just the same.

And I don't watch much racing at all, but over the years I've seen some pretty damn big bangups. Lots of people go for what "might" happen. Am I saying it's their only reason for going? No.

OK.... just for the record, I'm into F1.

....BUT... interestingly, I have some EU friends that think that F1 has become overly regulated and boring, and that all of the technical restrictions have turned F1 into a "train" of cars with very little passing, and almost NO dicing it up between drivers.... and they actually enjoy watching NASCAR because of the bumping, rubbing and crashes...

I still prefer F1, but I also find it interesting that, in an industry that demands tolerance, understanding and acceptance from society, so many of you seem so intolerant, judgemental, and close-minded to those that have different tastes than you have...

somewhat hypocritical, don't you think?

I'd rather watch rally racing. I love the people on the sidelines that are always just a couple feet from getting nailed.

Those offroad trucks racing in the desert is sometimes pretty cool too.

Never been a fan of oval racing, or any racing on pavement for that matter.
