Girls Gone Wild TV ads... stations need 2257?

I was watching some GGW ads last night and those are pretty wild. Though they don't show nipples and pussy, the do show them naked but a censored area and they show them making out with other girls.

So will every TV station need 2257 docs on EVERY girl in those ads?

Not exactly public when some of this take palce on their bus. Fact is they already got into trouble once when it turned out a couple of girls they filmed a few years back( including one on the cover of one of their videos ) was only 17 years old at the time.

Alsoa re you saying I can take pics of a 13 girl who is topless and post is on the web as long as she was in public?

Well they are SUPPOSE to. Seeing how there has never been a 2257 inspection ever I guess that aren't too worried.

read 2256 and that will tell you what needs a 2257.. Just because someone is naked, doesn't mean it needs a 2257.. For your other question.. If a 13 yo girl is topless in public it's not illegal to have a picture of it.. probably not smart but not illegal unless she is posing in a sexually explicit manor.. (again read 2256)

GGW crew shoots in hotel rooms, bars (that they sponsor - hence not really public) vip rooms in clubs, the GGW bus, bathrooms, hallways... they shoot everywhere. Not just public places.

The new DVD they have "Girls Gone Wild Games" where they have an island set up for the girls to play games in the nude. Now... yes, this is "outisde" but since it is an event set up for GGW, that is not really public.

Some of the stuff they do is covered by 2257.... but nothing they'd show in the TV ads. The majority of their stuff is exempt.

Since when is going to a hotel room or on the GGW bus considered PUBLIC places?

Well if theya ren't REQUIRED to follow 2247 why do they have a 2257 staement on their website?

here it is

A lot of companies have a 2257 statement, even if they aren't required to have docs for all of their content. If the government contacts the person listed, they will tell them what content is and what content is not required to have documents. That is standard.

Didn't the owner get nailed for shooting a few minors a year or two ago while on spring break? Looks like he walked from that one.

Sort of surprising Joe listed himself as the custodian of records, lol. There's all kinds of things they do to get around in an around 2257-ish requirments. Sometimes the club DJ's will make announcements that all girls in the wet t-shirt contest will be on GGW videos. Then the club owner signs some kind of document (sorry that sounds really stupid, and who knows if if would hold up in court.) Also, a lot of the contest girls they DO get to sign releases. Not all of them. I've actually seen this go down.

Here's where they really expose themselves, they steal "Over 21" arm braceletes from behind the bar and put them on under 21 girls and get them fucked up. So they may very well have 2257's for all their hotel shoots but 2257's signed while intoxicated are to my knowledge invalid, and if you actually contributed to the intoxication, well, need I say more.

Interesting.

So back to the question. IF GGW does have to have some 2257 docs, will the TV stations now have to have them as well to air the ads?

Nothing in the ads is sexually explicit - hence nope - kindof like a softcore banner on a website - the website owner hosting or "broadcasting" the ad has no obligations.

I don't believe the TV station would be a secondary publisher in this case, since they:

a) aren't making modifications
b) acting as a transmission medium for GGW's advertisements.

Does your webhosting company have to have 2257 info on hand because of the porn you send across their lines? Of course not.

LOL!!!

Got this from Rip-OffReport.com:

Girls Gone Wild Rip-off.

They keep sending me dvd's of girls gone wild , I did not order them. How can I stop this? Van Nuys California

*Consumer Comment ..Try this! Call it in as being lost or stolen.

I Ordered a dvd from this company for a friend and now I get one every month and they charge MY credit card, I can't seem to get them to stop,

If you can do without the credit card for a week, call it in as being lost or stolen. They will issue you a new card, with a new number. I found this out last year when I lost my wallet, and something I just ordered was frozen. (I got the free gift, though. heh, heh)

Don't lie to the Bank!

Telling the bank your card was stolen will cause you more problems - they will want a police report most likely and that's a crime. If it is a credit card and not a debit card call the CC company and tell them you didn't authorize these payments and they should take care of it.

Just call the bank or CC company up and tell them you want to stop paying that bill that comes up every month. It's your account.

Have you tried calling the company that's sending them to you? What was their response? Plus one other thing if you do that you will have to change all your other accounts you may have that auto deduct if it's a debit card. Big pain in the butt.

Read Small Letters!

Hi,

Next time you purchase something, especially a thing with nice girls on the cover, make sure you look for those small letters on the side.

When you bought a nice TV offer of $10 bucks, if you had read all correctly, you would see that you are SUBSCRIBING for a service, and that they would be sending you a DVD at a REGULAR PRICE of $24 bucks whenever a new volume comes out!

Yea, it happened to me, the same thing, and I went, read and believed. Just call their 1-800 dumber, tell them you wish to cancel your subscription, and after a nice-voice girl tries to keep you as their customer and you say "No more money for you girl", they will cancel your order and you will not be billed any more

And do not say - I ordered it for my friend. Say you got it for yourself, as we all did

Thanks...

Even Better!

Girls Gone Wild has just agreed to a $1.1M settlement!

http://entertainment.msn.com/news/ar...px?news=165692

Sure, everyone would like to have more money... but signing up people for a subscription without making it ABSOLUTELY clear isn't the way to do it.

If a company is legitimate... does it need to stoop to trying to "sucker" people into something? If that is the type of business that we are condoning... then there is something wrong with America.

It is funny, my 13 y.o. son jokes and blames everything on the education system...which to me is funny because I am about to get my teaching license...but maybe he is right.

I don't think that in the past we thought that it was necessary to teach consumer law in high school... but since companies are looking for "suckers" instead of customers... maybe we need to do better to prepare our children against the vultures that are out there taking advantage of those that they can get over on.

Doesn't that make anyone else out there sad?

GIRLS GONE WACK

Ken,

As an ex employee of GIRLS GONE WILD which are known an MANTRA ENTERTAINMENT. You can call 310.981.9000 and ask for "TROY" to get your refund and to STOP your billing to your credit card, however, do this: when you call, the receptionist will ask what the call is regarding, tell her you're applying for a (telemarketing)job you saw on Monster.com - at that point she WILL transfer you to Troy.

The receptionist is the GATEKEEPER!! Do not leave a message with her to talk to Troy, he will NEVER call you back! Also most of the people that work there have the "gift of gab". If all else fails, here's their contact info:

MANTRA ENTERTAINMENT (*NEW LOCATION*)
5757 Century Blvd
L.A.
310.981.9000

*OLD LOCATION*

Mantra Entertainment
1601 Cloverfield BLvd #420
Santa Monica, CA 90404

- I hope this helps you-
