suggestion for guys that are writing 2257 compliance software
ok, i have mentioned this before, and maybe someone can point me to the compliance record-keeping software that someone has built that includes these features:
IMO the best software for webmaster MUST have a "server scan" feature. this is because the of URL recording requirement of the new regs. most active webmasters are updating their pages most every day, i mean there are java scripts that change the page at each refresh, random pic of the day, and just general updating, adding new pages, and websites, etc. so the "server scan" feature would do this: it scans the entire server and does these things: 1. finds all jpg, mpg, and wmv files (which are coded by model ID in their naming scheme) 2. scans the server for all html, shtml, htm, and php pages (and any other pages that have images or movie files) and sorts these pages to the jpg, mpg, and wmv files. 3. then with every server scan you can rebuild your 2257 database in real time and stay on top of things as you update your sites. and it would only take a minute or two. i mean, can anyone tell me a simpler way to do this? |

isn't this going to add some serious load to your server?
Btw, this site was developed by a guy that's been in the biz for many years and had developed some of the best site management scripts: http://www.my2257records.com Contact him and see if he can do something custom for you. |
