right on. I would have done the same for my husband had his death been prolonged. I KNEW he did not want to be kept alive in such a situation and I think most couples who have been together any serious amount of time have talked about it and know their own views a great deal better than their parents.

Not exactly the same but the same idea - I KNEW my husband did not want to have a religious funeral but the funeral home kept pushing me to have one. They said that the only speakers they had were religious (or one religion or another). Him and I had had this conversation many times and I knew he wouldn't want that. So, I gave the eulogy myself which the funeral home said broke protocol, etc. My promise to Marc was not to let a priest talk about him. I kept mine and in those moments it is important that you know that or you will never sleep at night.

If the "following the balloon" clip was just a coincidence it could have been easily proven with subsequent videoing. As far as him being a dick, he clinches that title for shutting them out of the funeral services/internment.

He had no reason to allow anyone else to do any more intrusive examinations of his wife.
