Overture / domain value question

I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times, but in the following situation:

Let's say you have a two-word domain name you find available. For this example, let's just use "blue" and "banana".

In Overture's Keyword Selector Tool, you enter the term exactly "blue banana" and it comes up with a count of 1758 for that term.

Would you think this domain is worth the couple of bucks to register it? Would those 1758 translate into it getting atleast some type-in traffic?

Do many buyers still look at Overture results to see if they want to buy a domain?

Thanks

Maybe... There are two things to keep in mind when looking at figures from Overture:

1. Overture's "official" variation on the keyword is not necessarily the correct one. Overture groups the singular, plural and some misspellings of a word together. Just because "blue banana" has 1758 searches, doesn't mean 1758 people searched for "blue banana". Some may have searched for "Bleu Banana" or "blue bananas" or "bananas blue".

2. Some keywords have artificially inflated numbers based hardcoded search links from a high traffic site, a third party monitoring the relative bid positions on a keyword, or someone trying scam overture or a bidder.

when using overture trying to findout if a domainname has typeins you have to do it this way

bluebanana.com exactly like the typein you're looking to buy..... divide that number by 2 and you get a ROUGH estimate of how many typeins the domain get pr day. Remember I said rough, doesnt work for all domains......
