how to test my new wireless headset??

i think i just finished installing it and i hope it works... but how do i test it. I bought it because of google talk but none of my current buds is online right now.
I was told that if i start a song in winamp I should hear the song not out of the laptop speakers but the headset... is that correct? cuz thats not the case here.
I'm sure a lot of you guys use skype and co and got headsets so... comments are appreciated

If its a BT headset then your laptop has to have a built in BT, if it doesnt you need a dongle. Bought one for my gf foon, belkin cheap thingie 25 bucks, this is the 100m version bit more expensive

ok and the headset is BT too right? well then it has to work, you gotta connect the two obviously, pair them, click the software on the laptop let the dongle look for the headset, its called look for devices or pair
