He reportedly was so upset over Veterans of Foreign Wars members who wore ?bullshit protectors? over their ears during his speech to their annual convention that he told aides to ?tell those VFW assholes that I?ll never speak to them again is they can?t keep their members under control.?

White House insiders say Bush is growing increasingly bitter over mounting opposition to his war in Iraq. Polls show a vast majority of Americans now believe the war was a mistake and most doubt the President?s honesty.

?Who gives a flying fuck what the polls say,? he screamed at a recent strategy meeting. ?I?m the President and I?ll do whatever I goddamned please. They don?t know shit.?

That's what I've been saying. My husband and I argue often about the fact I think Bush is clearly drinking, or drinking again if you believe he quit in the first place. Hubby says if it were true he was drinking, someone would have leaked it. I disagree.

I grew up with enough alcoholics that I recognize the signs. You can clearly see it in his face and especially in his complexion during daytime press conferences when he's less heavily made up.

I'm not a fan of our Bush either; however, that website, Capitol Hill Blue, is questionable. While reading another story - the one that says the North Pole will melt by 2040 - is a total lie. The dude they quote - Jonathan Overpeck - I googled his name, and while he is who they say he is, two or three clicks to other sites and you'll see what he's really saying is we're at least 1000 years away from this...not 35.

I also listen to and watch way more right-wing programming than I do liberal, but I do try to catch the talking points from all sides before forming my opinions. He IS acting like a substance abuser and I'll bet you a fat one that he's taken a poke or two at Mrs. Bush. She has that "I just got my ass whupped" look far too often for my likes. I know cause I've worked with abused spouses, families and substance abusers for over 20 years. I volunteer time even today! I know the territory.

When you do lots of dope like the Pres did in his 'day' if you don't flush that stuff out of your system totally it stays in body tissues and leaks out now and then and all of a sudden you're buzzin' again. Happens with all chemicals you put in your body.

He may be back on the sauce again or he may just be having fall offs. Bottom line is his behavior and I'll tell you for a fact I've got far too many relatives and friends at the scene who've said the same thing about him. It's nothing new, he's been that way for years. Used to be worse. He's a guy with lots of shit on his plate but he's got no one to blame but himself.
