if you have a bad sector, format c: ain't gonna fx it IMO.

buy maxtor, they're really good. ibms tend to die after a short operation period. i already had two dying on me in the past.

It's really no big deal to have a bad sector, just
use a utility that will mark it as bad.

Am using a HD right now that has a bad sector and been using it for over 1 1/2 years.

Your sweating small stuff.

don't know about now but use to when you bought
hard drive it had extra space because they knew
alot of them would have bad spots.

We must have over 100 Seagate drives and have never had a problem we couldn't fix.

Only BUY IBM if you like your HD dying on you. Trust me when I say Seagate is the best HD to buy..........IBM, Quantum, Maxtor.. they lick balls compared to Seagate... IMO and Experience
