I have NO idea what to apply in University! Can you guys care to comment?

here are a few fields I am considering:

Computer Applications -- Bachelor of Computer Science
Computer Engineering -- Bachelor of Engineering
Mechanical Engineering -- Bachelor of Engineering
Computer Systems -- Bachelor of Computer Science
Finance -- Bachelor of Commerce
Marketing -- Bachelor of Commerce

Now you guys should know... I do not plan on getting a "job" with any of these degrees. I just want a paper to fall back on if anything and something to help me out in my internet career.

I do wish to invest my money in the future, maybe even become a stock broker for the hell of it and to benefit myself, so Im thinking Finance is good shite...

what do you guys think? here is detailed info about each program!

thanx alot guys!

Computer Applications:
Computer Science is the study and design of computer systems: both hardware and software. Computer Scientists are primarily concerned with the design of algorithms, languages, hardware architectures, systems software, applications software and tools. Applications range from simple game playing to the control of space vehicles, power plants and factories, from banking machines to intelligent fault and medical diagnosis.
Computer professionals, in short, must have some knowledge of that business or area of application. You may focus your studies on one of the following options: Computer Applications, Computer Systems, Information Systems or Software Systems.

Computer Engineering:
Computer Engineering focuses on the design of computer networks, and their integration into devices, systems and processes. Formerly a specialization within electrical engineering, computer engineering at Concordia has evolved into a separate degree program. New technology has resulted in a high demand for engineers with expertise in the areas of digital electronics, digital hardware, and digital computer design.

Mechanical Engineering:
Mechanical Engineering involves the design, construction and control of machines and equipment as well as the research and development of new processes, materials and techniques.
The terms ?automotive? or ?aeronautical? engineer include a very large number of specialties, such as internal combustion or jet engine design, vibration analysis, control engineering, production engineering, materials handling, measurements, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, to name but a few. All these fields are being revolutionized by the introduction of the computer into all aspects of design (computer-aided design) and manufacturing (computer-aided manufacturing), so as to enable our industries to produce higher quality products at a lower cost to the consumer.

Computer Systems:
This option provides a structured program in both computer software and computer hardware. A knowledge of the various aspects of digital hardware, and of ?interfaces? between the computer and those input and output devices which connect it to the world, will enable graduates of the Computer Systems option to co-operate with computer engineers in the development of new hardware and related software.

Finance:
The Department of Finance will familiarize you with all aspects of financial management and decision making. You will learn how corporations make financial decisions and how individual investors can select and manage their investment opportunities. In addition, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with the increasingly important fields of derivative securities and the management of financial services industries. Our course selection makes it possible for you to specialize in the three major areas of finance: Corporate Finance, Investments, and the Financial Services Industry. You will learn basic concepts through lectures, case studies, and simulation procedure.
Career opportunities: Financial Analyst; Corporate Financial Manager; Portfolio Manager; Investment Manager; Credit Manager

Marketing:
The Marketing curriculum ensures that students are up-to-date and fully equipped in terms of the knowledge, skills, and attitudes suitable for marketplace success in the twenty-first century. The applied ?how to? approach that pervades the marketing curriculum greatly enhances each student?s employability and value to a corporation immediately upon graduation.
Career opportunities: Promotion Planner; Advertising Manager; Brand Manager; Retailer; Market Researcher; Market Planner; Customer Service Representative;

don't you think that it is somewhat foolish to take marketing? as the market continuously evolves and great marketing techniques that date a few years old are no longer effective today?

Management is all around excellent.
I've always thought marketing is also very high on that list. Computer courses have never really interested me. Programmers aren't expensive anyways.

Just my non-qualified opinion.

What a waste of time. You should be able to make enough money in this business in a few years and invested at 5% you shouldnt have to work ever again. If you need school to 'fall back on', you are in the wrong industry.

All my university graduate friends are doing ok, making about $40k, working 9-5 and this is from good schools not concordia or some shit like that. Most still can't afford to move out and they have very limited budgets when it comes to partying.

My other friends who either dropped out of university or never went at all consist of mostly multi-millionaires, and they are all early to mid 20s and I know more than a handful in this position. If you can't make at least six figures a month in this grey market immoral business you have alot to learn and you will be hard pressed to find a course in university that will teach you about porn or online gambling or any high demand business.

I remember doing a project for entrepreneur class, about 10 years ago. The whole course was one project which involved doing a business plan for a made up company. Mine was a very innovative payday loan scheme, way back before it was mainstream. The locations I picked for stores are now both coincidentally payday loan outfits and have been for years obviously doing well. To make a long story short, I failed the course as my plan was deemed 'unethical'. Meanwhile, a group of three girls received an 'A' for their plan to put a 5000 sq ft restaurant inside the airport. Nobody bothered to check the rent in an airport which is like a thousand dollars per sq ft. Anyhow that was my last class, I dropped out and never looked back. Within a few years of hard work and sketchy 'unethical' business I had millions.

Now I just fuck around all day and love every minute of it. Good luck.
