Is it ok to use a programs trademarked name in your own URL if you are an affiliate?

Yes....or.....No ?

Example. Obvioulsy the word "adult" doesn't apply to this. but how about party poker or lets say bang bus (to push the site). example... using bangbusnow.com to push bangbus or partypokerplaying.com to push party poker.

experiences?

I know that a big point of argument in domain name disputes is if whether or not you (the holder of the similar or trademarked name) are trying to decieve the visitor into thinking that you are actually on the official site. But is this ok for affiliates to do? I have checked a couple of TOS and this isn't covered.

Depends on the sponsor, ask first. Some don't mind, some do.

Ask the sponsor before asking GFYers, that's a pretty unique idea.

I take the attitude that if they wont let me - they can fuck off.

In return - to be fair - if I do use their name in a domain - then I ONLY promote their content on that domain - and that domain only interlinks to domains which also only promote their content.

I think thats a fair reciprocal way of working.

If they wont let me though - as I say - they can fuck off.

Ive found over the last 5 years or so that the ones which initially say no - realise they have been stupid, realise WHY they have been stupid, and end up allowing it anyway.

Mainstream sponsors are the worst offending aswell. Porn isnt that bad in general.
