Google question weird.

Ok looked in "came from" in my sites stats and noticed a google link. With the site only having been bought for 7 days I was like wtf? Sure enough Im now 3rd listed, and the number 2 site for the word Bajiggity. Is this unbelievable to anyone else?

Check it out yourself too http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search

it's not totally abnormal.. sometimes stuff shows up before getting hit by the sandbox or aging delay. if it's there in 2-3 weeks, then i'll be wondering.

so far this is just normal

A serious response at last. hehe. Ive heard that happens also. I did a bunch of submissions, and have pretty good abount of links to other sites. Did about 140 first time visitors to the site, and 161 uniques today. I feel thats a good day for the first official launch day.

Wait for 2 weeks and then tell us where you are at then...

I have no problem pushing sites into the #1 spot. It is very simple. Keeping it there is another thing.

What he said, Google sometimes throws new sites up very high initially and lets the surfers, subsequent crawls, inbounds, etc. decide if it's worth staying there.

Having the keyword as your domain almost certainly triggered the high position, and unless your content/inbounds totally conflict with that "theme" my guess is you'll likely stick around ... not too much competition for that term it seems.

jesus, i couldn't believe I was the only one that read this thread and was asking the same thing

sure, I can get a new domain called fargiggity and probably get the #1 spot in 3 days too....LOL

I do see that it is in the urban slang dictionary, obviously not a very popular entry though

Dying for a reason to be crass are we? The traffic is fine. Getting 150 or more uniques a day. The word Bajiggity is mostly known from the movie "the sweetest thing" Who would of ever heard of Google for that matter? Its the uniqueness of a name that sometimes makes it popular. How bout Fark.com ? It gets tons of traffic. I bet you remember the name of my site next week maybe longer. ;)

That's because your domain is 100% the keyword.

Obviously... Yet Ive had other sites that took months for the domain name without the .com or .net etc in them to show up on google.

Maybe a part of that domain was a popular word, and then it's not that simple.

Well whichever. I have nearly 1000 people hitting the site a day within 14 days of the site going live.

Since midnight last night Ive already had 589 uniques, and 425 first time visitors with 164 returning visitors. I must be doing something right. ;)

1k visitors a day is more than a lot of the "affiliates" receive in a day - so do not sweat it. People are rude sometimes.
