I live in the murder capital of the united states, people get sprayed for nike's every other night. Sometimes you can drive downtown & see people laid out on the grass near overpasses covered in plastic while the homicide team is searching for stuff in the grass.

It's an everyday thing, you get used to it....and after awhile you get immune to it.

So when i visit a place like toronto (even in the crackhead areas), i feel like im tucked into a nice warm bed with a teddy bear.

That suggests Washington is about 170 times more dangerous than the Belgian capital, Brussels, which came bottom with 0.4 murders per 100,000.

It is not the "canadians" killing everyone, it's the immigrants. Canada has a very open immigration policy. Look at the details of those 72 murders, most are Somalians or Lebonese, go look at the Toronto police website and in the wanted section, most are somalians wanted for murder too.

Immigration is not the problem here in Toronto - that's a cop-out. (Not to suggest that's what you were implying)
Toronto has been too soft on offenders and the guns just keep flowing in from the States, are among the many reasons.

For years we rarely saw things like this but with more and more very public incidents like this a crack-down will have to occur. There's finally getting to be a lot of pressure on the politicians and police to stop this kind of thing.

It definitely has alot to do with drugs and all the murders seem to be in the 18 to 25 range and they seem to be immigrants. I was definitely making a generalization, and 80 murders is not enough to make that, but just an opinion i guess.

I went to a pretty good highschool a couple hours from toronto, all white kids, but that is just the area. Grade 11 we got an influx of lebonese kids. Kids started getting beaten with chains, stabbings, all this crazy shit, and always a lebonese kid involved somehow, by Grade 13, i had seen a few 50 vs 50 Leb fights.

Yep, Pipecrew has a good point there... If you look at the people that are using these handguns they are "primarily" Somalian/Lebonese/Black gangs. I don't want to sound like a racist but the numbers speak for themselves.

My thoughts on this in the past was that the gang members were just killing each other (which in my mind was fine because that just meant less trash on the street). However with incidents like this with 6 people get shot over no apparent reason it makes me wonder if this was some kind of gang initiation where they had to go out and shoot someone to get into the gang.
