I think you are right, but you know that. Most guys get what they want before they ever get to a join form. There are a lot of reasons, both sales and legal to not show ANYTHING in the free areas.

Less hardcore is probably a good thing, but even Naughy America censored tours for a minute and I don't think they do it anyore.

yep. but instead of a few distributors of the product in demand, you've got literally 10's of thousands of distributors on many different tiers all cutting each others throats at any given chance to get a bigger slice of the pie. the greed and need to survive supercedes everything else. if one says fuck it, i'm not showing it, 10 will realize the potential to attract more traffic because they show pink. instead of working together i can see tons of renegades exploiting the situation.

Me and Dave talked about this at length when I was working with you guys back in the day and I agree, showing less and adding to the tease of a tour would make sales go up...but then like one guy was saying, you got a bunch of know-it-all cowboys in this biz that would try to benefit on hording traffic due to surfers looking for the sites that DO show enough to jerk off to. The "happen in a whole" thing is the whole problem. I agree, sales would skyrocket if every pink beefcurtain on the internet was in a members area and you had to pay. The problem is getting everyone in this industry to do something is (as Tony Morgan says) "like herding cats".

If all the hardcore was behind a members area, it would keep the goverment off our back....which brings us to our next problem...the only was to get the hardcore off the tour would be to have the feds step in. That would be a far worse scenerio - IMO.

99% of my friends are amazed that we make money in porn charging every month since they can get all they want for free. That is the reality, we cannot censor it globally and guys who want to show the farm will still do it since they make money on upsells. I think the wave of the future will be better upsells and not less free porn, bottom line make the traffic make money.

The ways to make money in recurring is to develop relationships with the customers or pump as much traffic as you possibly can at a site and play the numbers game. Yes, that may be the case, but what people don't seem to understand is that if all that was available was softcore images and video samples on a tour, the surfer(s) will be WAY more frustrated and willing to pull out a credit card to pay to see the real deal.
