Wondering what others use and is there anything out there that works better than the rest?

Sitedepth seems to be quite alright. Mansion has a decent CMS aswell.

I use Xtract Management System for my members area setup. Great bit of code at a reasonable price.

Nope...different script, different developers.

ring a bell, in fact when I mentioned sitedepth I had this script in mind lol

I looked up SiteDepth and never seen that site before

Pay the money and have someone write you a custom solution. The off the shelf ones rarely work the way you want them to. Custom solutions will cost more, but ultimately will fit your site like a glove.
