CNN Pipeline, I just downloaded it, it's good stuff!

It's a desktop application (a web player with fewer features is also available) that is running 4 streams of commercial free news events. There are 4 moving thumbnails at the bottom to show you what's on the other streams.

Currently they are showing:

Katrina hearing on Capital Hill
Europe hearing on CIA prisons
Scott McClellan's daily White House press briefing
House debate on Patriot Act

As I was typing this the 2nd and 3rd one ended and they brought in raw feeds coverage of a bus accident in LA. It's like raw feeds on a big backyard dish. None of the stuff running live in the player stuff has been running on CNN (they are currently running their afternoon "International" segment).

They also have a large archive on demand in addition to the live stuff. You can have an icon in the taskbar that lets you know when there is breaking news or live events starting (you can choose either, both or no alerts). Definitely a news junky's new best friend

It's $2.95/month, I went for the annual sub ($24.95) but either way you can try it free for 14 days.

i wish a real news station offered such a service. sorry to say, but CNN sucks. every time i tune in it's either a new terror alert, a terrorist threat or some random bullshit about how we're making progress in Iraq.

Well when you have to fill 24x7 with "news" what do you expect?

Read my post again. This is uninterrupted live news coverage. The Murtha comments that CNN TV just showed about only 30 seconds of on TV I saw live from beginning to end. It's NOT the canned news segments and BS they show on TV. I saw live coverage of the bus accident 15 minutes before it was mentioned on TV. The Patriot Act debate and Katrina hearings are streaming uninterrupted.

well... just downloaded it last night and I really like it. Wanted to share on here but did a search first to see it wasn't posted already.
It's real god and only 2.95/month, no commercials or ads, lots of on demand videos, 4 livestreams . To make it an even sweeter deal they are offering a 14day free trial now. If you're a news addict, this is your thing.

To sum it all up: the first paysite worth it's money ;) http://www.cnn.com/pipeline/
