Just curious, i've always cut my gals up in mpg format, but i see alot of free hosted gals and videos out there now that are wmv. I guess you can have smaller files with better quality, but do most mgp sites now allow galleries in wmv? What do you prefer?

wmv rocks!

mpg rocks as well but will be twice as large for the same quality

so dialup and slow dsl usrs prefer wmv for ovbvious reasons and gives you a better chance to convert them

wmvs saves the webmaster b/w

however you should promote with what format the members area is in

i could never understand why movie tgp's hated wmv. show users how to view wmv with a simple explanation about less square nipples and faster downloads/better quality.

hmm interesting,, Though programs like virtual dub can't open wmv for thumbnail previews..

Most movie posts only accept .mpg

If you encode mpegs efficiently you can get them close to .wmv file sizes. I prefer mpegs because they dont require the "buffer" (mpegs play right away, while some .wmv you have to download completely before playing - which is time consuming). Plus almost any movie player can play mpegs, which makes them more user friendly.
