As it stands I've loved the service since day one, regardless!!!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, Evvvvvvvy Ev

And the results are in!

I snagged the domain I wanted

Back story:

Last week I reg'd a domain for a project I'm working on.

On a lark, I checked with IPAlert to see if anyother domains were going to be available in this category that might possibly be better.

Coincidently - it turns out that the singular of the exact domain I'd just reg'd was set to expire on the 21st. (I reg'd the plural obviously )

Long story short:

I called Evan and asked him to personally back order the domain for me since I didnt have any accounts set up to do so myself.

We set the max bid at $350 on the 21st as the auction process began and at 12:10 pm today I get a call from Evan telling me I'd been out bid and there were 5 minutes left in the auction. I said raise the max bid to $500. A minute later Evan informs me that I'd been out bid again!

DAMN IT!

I said set the max bid to $750 ... 5 minutes later the domain was mine!!!

THANKS EVAN AND IPALERT!

I just protected the future of my brand and I think your service ROCKS!

Now I need to set up my own back order accounts and will continue to monitor drop off domains with IPalert very happily!

it is our pleasure to proxy on behalf of our peers. it seems to happen very regularly so next we will launch "TMproxy" and we'll do the heavy lifting and keep the odds in your favor.

best of luck with your business and nice pickup and you are very welcome

Not ready to say just yet.

It's not a type-in or anything BUT it has tremendous value to me personally based on the potential future miss-types if this project takes off half as well as I expect it to.

It's mainstream, BTW but I'll announce it as soon as we come out of beta in 3 - 4 weeks

Thanks, Brujah!

It was just happenstance. I'm not "IN" the back order game at all. Domains are not a huge component in any of my business models. Until recently, I wasn't even aware of how it all worked so I never had any back order accounts with any of those services.

Evan gave me an IPAlert account when he first went into beta months ago. I wasn't looking for THIS name - it was purely a coincidence that I'd just reg'd the plural. I was really looking to see if something better MIGHT be "falling off".

Seeing that this particular name came up available - it just reinforced that my orginal domain was the one to run with!

Ultimately, getting the matching singular of it tells me that it's meant to be

my favorite are the godaddy captures. why? because once my backorder is placed, there is nobody allowed to bid against me and if they win my domain, i win for cheap. we have had several captures for $20 approx ea. that are domains worth over $5k.

second- would be captures at pool and enom because not as many people bid so domains go for half of what they would at snap.

some proxy goodwill - vividnightclub.com for Vivid Video (they own a nightclub in the venetian). homegrowncamz.com for Homegrownvideo - they rock out with their cock out on anything homegrown related. jaysxxxpics.com for xxxjay - obvious. and many more.... brujah- do you think these companies would have captured those domains without our help? NO. Not everybody is a full-time domainer with the resources to even know where to begin.

Yes, they could have captured the domains without your help. Do you hand-hold every customer's Snapnames bid ? No, you don't. It's an auction where you set max bids. It's not rocket science. Far-L could get the same "monitor" service for free at http://www.whois.sc/ for example. Keep babbling to me about it. I'd be glad to keep responding.
