Free Auto Blogger Pro/RSS2Blog style system!

Why spend money on Auto Blogger Pro/RSS2Blog when you can have the same thing for free?

My CMS of choice is Drupal (http://www.drupal.org) and they offer what you need. Here's an example of an automated blog running drupal in action -> http://drupal.org/planet

All ya really need to use is the news aggregator (http://drupal.org/node/21963). But whatever goodies you need you can get (ie Google SiteMap - http://drupal.org/project/gsitemap). Just check out http://www.drupal.org and look around at the many modules they offer.

Drupal is SOLID, they have huge support (ie irc - #drupal @ freenode.net), and you dont have to be stuck to just a blog. The options are endless with drupal and it's FREE, unlike the others

This is what happens when you try and help others out, versus rounding up sheep like many tend to do here.

If you are running a drupal automated blog, or an automated blog from another CMS, please post the url(s) here with module(s) used.

Thank you sir.

I've said many times before an Autoblogger Pro type system can be rigged using plugins, but you would need to modify or rewrite them to work together.

Time is money though, and for someone that wants a solution that has a proven track record, a complete all in one system is better.

AutoBlogger gives you everything you need in one package? I dont think so, they dont offer unlimited domains, so you have to buy MANY packages if you want the number of blogs needed to actually make money.

Making money with automated blogs isnt easy. You dont think people have tried making 100 blogs and throwing adsense banners on them? People have, and they make nothing. If you plan on leaving your blog and letting it run itself, you'll only make a couple bucks a day with good traffic. So if you have 500 blogs, then that is definitely good money, but who wants to buy 50 ten-domain packs of ABP? And at $200, soon to be $250, each?

Also Ice, what you somehow forgot to mention is that AutoBlogger Pro does NOT offer CRON UPDATES, so you have to manually update your blog to get the latest posts. It may not seem that difficult, but try doing that with 100 blogs every couple hours.

Don't get me wrong, Chio is great, but customer support is NOT great. When you have software problems you need to deal with the programmer to fix them, who is busy working on other projects as well as others problems, causing a delay in what you need done, and problems arent usually fixed with the first try, so expect at least a week for your single problem to be solved.

What I've found with GFY is that when something is very good people DONT blab it on GFY. They like to keep it to themselves or among a group of people. So when something is too good to be true, especially when it's posted about on GFY, it usually is.

Not too shabby. But when I see someone post with a size 7 I sense it's a way to spam something that isnt so great, quality product speaks for itself. So if it is a great piece of software, please keep it to normal size font, then people will take you and the software more seriously.

Thanks though

Reblog is nice, but lacks a lot of the features built-in AutoBlogger Pro. Drupal is also a very solid CMS. I've used the aggregator and it's not the same thing.

Can you elaborate on how the aggregator of Drupal's is not the same thing, and what features Reblog lacks? (just trying to help people make a better decision to which way they should go vs having biased opinions)

Thanks in advance Brujah

These "problems" have only existed for a very small group of people. We have well over 1000 domains licensed, and almost all have been fine.

Not everyone will be happy, but we do try.

How much do people pay for adwords? How much traffic does it bring?

You can have decent traffic from searches within a week of setting up an Autoblogger Pro site. This is a free traffic stream forever, and it grows each month as more content is indexed and you go higher in the serps. Each site license costs about 30.00 (multi site) That's not a lot to pay for a completely automated site. BTW Cron does work

Adsense is only one way, but there are many ways to monetize sites using autoblogger pro.

The traffic can be pushed to whatever you want via the relinking system.

Custom header, and footer enables you to use a phpadsnew system very easily, so banners, text links etc, can be rotated on each post.

The features list on Autoblogger Pro shows everything it can do, plus we already have a lot of stuff planned for 2.5

Well there are MANY members who do mainstream as well, so I would expect that other members have heard of it and have even possibly used it.

Can you explain what you use RSS2Blog for? As the title is RSS2Blog yet you dont use rss, so does that mean you use it 2blog?

Thanks Veterans Day

Can be used for your own text, merchant data feeds, rss feeds, google news, yahoo news, msn news, scraped se searches. Control as many blogs from 1 admin panel no domain limits, 1 license and so forth. It pings, set when you want it to auto update blah blah...

Thanks for explaining more about potential revenue streams for potential future buyers.

A few things I have issue with though. Your statement "This is a free traffic stream forever..." is one of them. Google and other search engines have been taking automated blogging sites (aka splogs) and delisting them, not banning them YET. So initially you may have good traffic, but it'll drop once you become delisted and thrown in their searchable blog directory.

Another is "Each site license costs about 30.00 (multi site) That's not a lot to pay for a completely automated site." C'mon Chio, people are lazy, they dont want to baby their sites constantly, quantity always out does quality (ie Windows OS as an example ). So to make decent money at this blog thing you need many blogs, and $30 per site for say 100 blogs, that's $3000 to drop on software still in development.

Also "plus we already have a lot of stuff planned for 2.5". I heared you might be just going to 3.0 and skipping over 2.5

Thanks Chio

Drupal's aggregator doesn't post it's items as new entries. It manages it as it's own content type for lack of a better way to describe it. It's much less flexible in what your titles link to, filtering urls or keywords, etc.. It's too obvious that it's an aggregator but that's what it's written to be. Not the same kind of thing AutoBlogger customers would purchase AB Pro for. I haven't tried AB Pro, so I can't really explain it much better.

Reblog has a few features that make it better for my use, but these are already being added to AutoBlogger Pro, after speaking to the programmer. You have more control over what eventually shows up on your blog, forum, or whatever you use it for. I'm using it for a blog, and for a forum also where it works especially well.

No way.. definitely not, and phpNuke has long since fallen aside. Joomla seems to be the new popular one.

Test Drive it yourself. Most of it will be pretty intuitive and obvious.

Joomla is like a lite version of Mambo. How is Joomla support? I find it awful how Mambo's irc rooms are invite only, but the forums are quite vibrant.

I also got those errors.

Google encourages the use of rss. They use it themselves much the way Autoblogger Pro does on their news site.

My first test site of the abp idea (started over a year ago) is still going strong. A good bit of the traffic comes from bookmarkers so even if google did ban it (doubtful) it would still maintain a decent level of traffic.

C'mon Chio, people are lazy, they dont want to baby their sites constantly, quantity always out does quality (ie Windows OS as an example ). So to make decent money at this blog thing you need many blogs, and $30 per site for say 100 blogs, that's $3000 to drop on software still in development.
I am not going to say what I make with my small network (20 or so sites) but it's much better than you seem to think it could be. As I said there are many ways to monetize an ABP site.
As for babying... Cron works. Set it and forget it

Thanks Chio
We just may.

Let me say this, I am all for saving money, but without custom coding, you cannot get a complete system like Autoblogger Pro using free plugins. They need to be modified. That's why Autoblogger Pro exists. I couldn't get the plugins to work together.

Sorry I missed this one but...

BINGO! (refer to my post about how many domains are licensed then look for posts from customers) It works. I can verify easily, if you'd like to hit me up on ICQ.

Do some searches on GFY for ' drupal ' and/or ' reblog '. There've been others.
