Red Wings over Maple Leafs in 6

I'm a die hard Leafs fan, but Detroit is just too good this year.. Hasek, Shanahan, Federov, Yzerman, Hull, Robitaille, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Chelios, Draper, the list just goes on and on..

As much as I love the Habs... I don't think they're going to get past the first round.

Toronto will probably meet Ottawa in the 1st round, which is a shame because both teams deserve to advance.

I'm thinking that the Flyers will choke big time this year, and I have a feeling Colorado will choke too. But ya never know...

I truthfully don't see Detroit losing. They are too stacked...

3 600 Goal Scorers (Yzerman, Hull, Robitaille)
4 500 Goal Scorers (above + Shannahan)

Arguabley the best goal tender in the NHL (Hasek)

The best coach to coach ANY professional sporting team (Bowman)

Whoever wins though its going to be an action packed, fun filled couple of months. I love the playoffs.

Go Wings!!!

I bet the Flyers lose to NJ in the first round. Why do you think Boston busted their ass for 1st in the East? Two words:
Martin Brodeur

The Devils think they are the Lakers, and that they can turn it on at will. But you have to fear a big, physical team that plays good defense in the playoffs.

wings are a bit banged up, and there are some great goalies out there. any of them are capable or shuttin the door in a playoff series.

so i wouldn't be runnin to the casino and placing my money on the wings

I don't take anything away from the Wings. They are an awesome team full of incredible vets.
However, they are getting old. Even Hasek has his weak spots.

Look at Corey Schwab and how well he has been doing for the Leafs as of late. They didn't need BarASSo. In fact, they should have picked up Kevin Weekes when they had the chance.

Leafs to the semi finals at least!!!

screw weekes, they shoulda grabbed trevor kidd. i think he's a much better goalie than his numbers suggest. even though he's been a complete bust in the nhl. when he was drafted he was suppose to be much better than brodeur.

Watch the numbers on Roberto Luongo go WAY UP in the next year or two.
We'll see if Florida can still afford him...

same thing with calgary when they let giguere go. both teams didn't really get much back imo.

I am a big Devils fan so I gotta say...

the Devils.

No one ever predicts the Devils yet they are a strong team in the playoffs. (That fucking game seven last year sucked ass). However, I do believe that they are on the backend of their peak (see game seven last year). Logically, I have to say that Detroit is going to take the Cup .

how 'bout that hit Stevens put on Lindros last year in the playoffs? Took him out like a mother fucker! I kindof felt bad for Lindros 'cause he had just came back from all the concussion shit and then...BLAM! Lindros kicks ass but I LOVE to see a tough defense (hence my liking for the Devils). There is nothing like a good crushing hit in hockey

Go Devils!!

Glad to see another Devils fan! Few and far between. Yeah, I'd have to agree they are on the tail end of their run, lots of greybeards on that team. And they messed up in letting Mogilny go to Toronto. They needed his goals. And they could really use another Brendan Shanahan or Billy Guerin from their farm system. Scott Gomez does not thrill me.

I think the only guy who enjoyed Stevens hit on Lindros more than Devils fans was Bobby Clarke.

Leafs fans, bet you wish you had traded for Lindros. He'd have been a good fit for that team. Big and mean, plus he can score. You could have had him cheap. Hell, I can't even think of the guys they wanted for him. Couldn't believe they passed on the deal.

No shit! For some strange reason, people just seem to try and ignore the Devils or something. I think maybe me and you are the only Devil fans. I think most people do not really care for the Devils because they are not a high scoring offensively minded team. Oh, well. I prefer defence. I am a die hard Buccaneers fan as well.

Quote:

Yeah, but not as bad as Detroit
They looked young and healthy tonight, though. They ruled the flyers all night and the Devils were not even on top of their puck control.

I was not too thrilled over the trades myself. I hated to see Mogilny and Arnott go. They do need to get some young guns. Gomez came on so strong his first year I was all excited about him but, damn, did he fizzle out or what.

Quote:

It looks like we might be playing the Leafs in the first round. Maybe we will get to see a Stevens/Mogilny fight! Here's hoping for a repeat of last year (besides the SC game fucking seven )!

It was practically a done deal, they were going to trade Danny Markov and Nik Antropov for him.. Philly said they thought Markov had a bad back, and wanted Kaberle instead, claiming they are on the same skill level.. Leafs turned it down, because they wanted to keep Kaberle.

It was VERY close to being done though, the Leafs thought it was done, they didn't dress Antropov or Markov for that nights game when they thought they had a deal..

Too bad, would have been nice to have seen #88 in a Leaf uniform. It may happen yet, I'm not sure how many years he has left in his contract in NY

whats this about wanting Lindros?

That guy is going to die on the ice... mark my words...

Everybody loves taking shot at him, and his head is like glass...

For who is going to win, probably Detroit.

For who Ill be yelling for? MONTREAL BABY!

Theodore will stick it to everybody like Roy did in 93!!!

The player I would most want to see in a Leafs uniform?

Todd Bertuzzi

I really hope the Habs do well in the playoffs too.
