Video people - whats a good way to crop video to get rid of black bars? - GoFuckYourself.com

I have a dat file (mpeg I think) and I want to crop the black bars so I can put it on CD to play on my WideScreen TV.

Whats a good tool to do this - it has to be simple as Im an idiot when it comes to video.

Do you have a video editing software application you are using? If so which one? If it's Vegas i can tell you how to do it, you just use the pan/crop feature.

I try and avoid playing with video if possible so I dont have one at all - I was hoping the new Nero Suite would do it, but no luck.

Yeah I think you'll have to use a crop tool if it's a black line on top of and/or below the video (like widescreen). How big is the file? If it's not too big and you can upload it somewhere I will do it for you later on.

My personal favorite all in one editing, cropping and converting tool is Videocharge.

It does everything you want without having to go through any extra steps. It's kept me from having to open Vegas or Final cut so many times in the past year I can't even count em.
