Any Mac users?

I just got the new iMac and am looking for a replacement for notepad - anyone know of a simple text program to write html with - as easy as notepad. I downloaded BBedit but I dont lke it and no way does it seem to be worth 200 bucks to me.

Thanks

There is a default text pad program on OS X. Can't remember the name but it's there.

I don't know if you can write html with textedit or not. I ended up installing Dreamweaver.

Donny is right - you cant write html with textedit - I really dont want to use dreamweaver when I just want to add a few lines of code here and there -- seems like there must be a good alternative - I'll keep looking - thanks for all the replies.

Welcome to real world :-) go get a free copy of Textwrangler: http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/ It is the lil bro of BBEdit a professional editor but textwrangler works pretty well. When u need any other software just have a look at versiontracker.com and you will find anything you need. Some other Mac related sites I recomment are macosx.com or macupdate.com. Best thing you can do is read a lot and you wil discover it all soon enuf.

Happy Mac'ing !

Ump, how can you NOT write HTML with a text editor? I used to use notepad to write HTML pages. Now I used UltraEdit and Visual Studio. Did I miss something?

Textedit is on the Mac. A far better free editor is Textwrangler, just do a search for it

One of the thing i really appreciate with all the Macboards is you will seldom see a flamewar or something like that. Most contributors are really helpfull and that's one of the charmes of being a maccer I think ;)

Another great site to keep up to date and with tons of links for free software is http://www.mac360.com/ those girls know what they are talking about
