How much do you pay your UK accountant?

I think I might be getting ripped off.

How much do you pay your accountant approx per year?

Including what he charges you for completing company tax, payroll, VAT returns, personal tax etc.

I've not checked but I think I'm being charged about £3,500 ish

Do you keep any records or just give him bank statements and a box of receipts? If he does it all from scratch then that's a fair amount.

If you keep reasonable records, and your tax situation isn't that complicated then may be a bit much.

That is a bit steep if you are just a one man band. If you give him the info in a decent form you should be at about hahaha163;1500 top.

depends how complicated your accounts are.

are you ltd or sole trader? are you registered for vat - do you need to be? do you actually have employees?

if you're a one man band you're being fucked.

if you're a company with employees, over the year that's probably pretty reasonable

My situation:

Limited company, 3 employees, registered for vat, corporate tax, payroll, my personal tax etc.

£1400 sounds good, either you're getting a bargain or I'm getting fucked.
