Do you bother to read entire articles, or do you just go for the headlines? Anyone can make up accusations. Read further down the article. Halliburton denied that.

How's denying anything actually make it not true?

They said yesterday that they will turn conrol over to a US company there were a few mentioned that already run some ports they mentioned that Haliburton was on the list of possibles but that they have never run a port before. If somehow Haliburton gets the job and the companies that have experience in the field get turnned away you know something funny is going on.

I actually laughed at myself about this story because they announced that DP World would turn over control to a US company and I jokingly said to my friend, "Will it be Halliburton?" We both laughed then they said they were on the list. I just shook my head.

Read the article linked to from that article. And then tell me WHY it would do any good to deny taking over US ports. And WHY anyone would want to deny it...

Fucking think, people. Don't let hatred of Bush/Cheney interfere with your ability to use your noodle.

Gee, I wonder how much space is on this board to list all the times Halliburton 'denied' something.

We're up to our asses in 'denials' and we keep getting closer and closer to armageddon. I wouldn't trust Halliburton's press office more than I'd trust a critter in the chicken house.

We use our noodles. We're not stupid enough to hate Bush or Cheney. They're just men. They're operating on information from people they're supposed to trust and one after another they get 'lied' to and then apologize.

One of these days maybe the'll get wise and realize they're going to have to use something like their own intuition and stop relying on constituents and policy makers and board rooms.

would it be halliburtons fault that most of the country freaked out and chose to keep the contract in house? if they somehow do end up with the deal (which they wont) it would be the fault of every cheesy mofo that jumped on the bandwagon and said not to give dubai the contract..not to mention the person who takes the contract actually has to pay like 700million for it, it is not jsut free money it is a buisness that takes money to make money...we now look like a bigger bunch of bitches to the world for backing out and they have every right to feel that way...the danger comes from out of the port and comes in on a boat, the goal for terrorism with ports is to destroy the ports and make them useless for commercial use...giving dubai would not have endangered us any more than allowing them to continue to ship in goods...if a terrorist wants to bring a nuke to oklahoma they will not be shipping it in on a boat thru customs they will walk it over the border...the whole situation is a giant ball of cheese

ahh the ports deal......

one word.

propoganda.

Our fearless leader, who loves his people so much, wants the arab world to like him sooooo much... is worried what kind of message this sends to the arab world, at the expense of the american people, who he faults as being oppposed to this deal, while dead loved ones get ready to be bulldozed in New Orleans.

Fuck it... what ya gonna do??? nothing...its out of control. How does a guy like Tom Delay get renominated for his job, after all the illegal shit he's got his hands into?? LOL????

the next 50 years are going to be interesting as the world gets warmer and population goes exponential.

Lets say you have a 20 person lifeboat and food for 20 people... and 40 people are in the water trying to get into your boat. Someone is gonna stand up in the boat and start oaring people to death, becuase those people in the water will be fighting to the death to get in the boat.

WTF is wrong in the first place?

Is there nobody in the US capable of managing the ports?

OK.. sure as hell Bush is incapable - he could not even run his own oil company without it failing - but there must be someone else??
